Bishop Bartholomew tried to resign last summer because he hates Sotirios, big surprise, who doesn’t??
Except you can’t resign as a Bishop because you’re supposed to be a
Bishop for life (unless defrocked/kicked out) so he’s been placed on the
retired list. He met with the Patriarch last July at the Patriarchate since
it’s the Patriarch and Synod who elects them and who are authorized to move him
to the retired list. You also know he’s on the retired list because the only
Bishops invited to the Patriarch’s Synaxis last September were the “active”
ones and he wasn’t invited and you can see the photos online too. So since he’s
“retired” the church isn’t obligated to pay him, like anyone who’s retired, and
whatever he does now is voluntary. Bishop Barthowmlow wants to live in Canada
for 6-months and Greece 6-months a year so he can keep his pension here. So he
serves at his old church because somehow Sotirios and Tasia (Merkel Thatcher)
convinced him too. Canada doesn’t have priests and desperately needs him.
Merkel was with him last fall in Greece at one point trying to persuade him not
with her looks LMAO but with money on the side, you can find photos online.
Bishop Bartholomew was initially responsible for Western Canada, there’s a
public letter from Sotirios that says the regions for the 3 bishops. Now Bishop
Athenagoras is responsible for Ontario AND Western Canada but Sotirios won’t
put it in writing publicly because Bishop Iakovos will have another temper
tantrum and throw shit if people find out Bishop Athenagoras is responsible for
the majority of Canada. There were letters that went out recently from the
Bishops to their priests/regions and all of Western Canada was signed by Bishop
Athenagoras and when there are issues they call him. They tried to break up
Western Canada between the two bishops but priests complained to Sotirios
because Bishop Iakovos has a serious anger problem and screams and insults
them. He sounds just like Sotirios except screaming, he called some of those
priests ahreestee (worthless) just like Sotirios calls his priests. I wouldn’t
feel too bad for Bishop Bartholomew he’s getting money on the side that’s not
being accounted for anywhere because then he has to declare it as taxable
income and St Nick’s/Archdiocese would have to as well and we know how they do
accounting, under the table.
Interesting perspective. Who is Tasia/Merkel/Thatcher? In fairness to Antonopoulos he is an up and comer and he is getting more and more respect in Montreal. Dr Tsoukas, a well respected fundraiser, this week called him the leader of the Montreal Paroikia. His role is to make sure that all the churches run smoothly. Obviously if he was the Archbishop one day with a job description of sending the most money possible to Istanbul then he would likely act like that idiot Sotiri. I really like that Antonopoulos publicly slams people whereas Sotiri has his Archon goons doing the dirty work for him. Respect.
ReplyDelete(12:32 PM) Iakovos already “acts like that idiot Sotiri”. You don’t have to wait to see that. His largest financial supporter cut him off early last year when the family found out about how similar he really is to Sotirios (from lifestyle to behaviour in church) they said how “Sotirios made him in his image.” There’s no bigger insult in the church than that right there! Sotirios is a disease that’s spread in the church and whoever doesn’t understand that after 40-years has no idea what’s going on. I feel sorry for whoever gets stuck taking over for Sotirios because it will take a long time to clean up his never ending shit hole and they’ll have no other choice but to defrock, suspend, remove clergy and laypeople like what’s happening in America to a number of priests, hierarchs, staff etc. but someone’s gotta do it or the disease continues to spread. Given who the Patriarch put in America to clean house, I’m betting he won’t put someone in here who “publicly slams people.”
Delete12:32 NO clergy should be “slamming people” and especially from the pulpit in front of the Holy Altar, this is the C-H-U-R-C-H. That’s not respect, that’s an embarrassment! And Sotirios sending his Archons to do his dirty work is no better. And you don’t get an asshole pass because you’re not a seasoned Bishop, you don’t bully or swear at priests or anyone in the church or actually anywhere, that’s not leadership that’s an abuse of power. And last month Iakovos did it so much so that aside from the usual calls to Sotirios from priests about him, Bishop Athengoras got some disturbing calls about it too from Ontario which he has no business in, that’s not how you ensure the church runs smoothly, that’s just continuing the same 40-years of sickness and chaos we’ve had to endure under Sotirios.

Iakovos does because he follows money and power, just like his daddy Sotirios.
The people who are so desperate for the ultimate Throne are the ones who don’t deserve it so I wouldn’t hold your breath that “one day” might come where he does, but good attempt at a joke.
Here in Montreal we LOVE HiM AND WE are very happy with Bishop Iakovos a very hard working priest and now Bishop who worked hard doing evg in the church and running to every person or famile's,
ReplyDeleteneeds I ve seen with my own eyes paying from his moderate salary familie's rents and not only.BISHOP IAKOVOS HAS THE BEST RELATIONS WITH OUR MONASTERY GERONTISSA AND NUNS WHO THEY ARE DEVASTATED WITH HIS DECISION !!! Bishop Iakovos is A very honest person!! Since his announcement of his resignation we are all shocked Young ,future couples waiting to blessed by him ARE in a a very stressful situation how to deal with that.And with both Philoptochos Chapters there is nothing wrong we are very clear on that .Even that he worked under the tremendous pressure of the Archibishop and as people who work in the church we felt it many times he never told us anything but we were seeing it .It s really not honest to spill people names out of hate jealousy or I do not know what.
