Αποζημίωσε τον παπαΚυριάκο από το Peterborough, με χιλιάδες δολάρια.!!
Σε ομολογία ενοχής, προχώρησε την π. εβδομάδα ο μητροπολίτης άγιος Τορόντο - και όλου του Καναδά - κ.κ. Σωτήριος. Την ενοχή του αυτή παραδέχτηκε μέσω του δικηγόρου του, όταν λίγο πριν την ακροαματική διαδικασία ενώπιον του δικαστηρίου, συμφώνησε σε μια συμβιβαστική πρόταση αποζημίωσης του ιερέα με ένα ποσό
μερικών χιλιάδων δολαρίων, το ύψος του οποίου δεν γνωρίζουμε τη στιγμή αυτή, μιας και το θεωρεί επτασφράγιστο μυστικό.!
Παρ' ότι το ποσό αυτό καταβλήθηκε ή θα εκταμιευτεί από το ταμείο της Μητρόπολης και ως εκ τούτου ..δεν έχει και μεγάλη σημασία, λέγεται ότι ανέρχεται σε αρκετές χιλιάδες δολάρια, αφού οι απαιτήσεις του π. ιερέας της Αγ. Τριάδας ανέρχονταν στο ύψος των 450.000.!
Πέρα λοιπόν του ότι τα λεφτά είναι πολλά -έστω κι' αν δεν τα πληρώνει από τη τσέπη του- εκείνο που έχει τη σημασία του είναι το ότι μητροπολίτης πράμα, άφηνε επί δυο σχεδόν χρόνια, έναν φτωχό κληρικό να τραβολογιέται στα δικαστήρια, γνωρίζοντας ότι έχει άδικο.! Εξ' ου και η τελική, περί αυτού, ομολογία του και η καταβολή της ό,ποιας αποζημίωσης...
Αντιλαμβάνεστε λοιπόν με τι είδους μητροπολίτη έχουμε να κάνουμε όταν μέσα σε μόλις 2-3 εβδομάδες πιάστηκε να λέει ψέματα για την δήθεν μη ανάμειξη του παπαΝικόλα στις υποθέσεις της Μητροπόλεως και τώρα με την ομολογία του ότι ο πρώην υφιστάμενός του, ο παπαΚυριάκος, είχε το δίκιο με το μέρος του.!!! Φαντάζεστε σε πόσες άλλες παρόμοιες ή διαφορετικές περιπτώσεις, ο ίδιος αυτός μητροπολίτης έπραττε σύμφωνα πάντα με τα κελεύσματα του Θεού; Άγιε Τορόντο Σωτήριε, τι συμβαίνει; Ό,τι συνέβαινε πάντα θα μου πείτε και θα είναι -δυστυχώς-σωστό.!
Πόσο άδικο έχω, τώρα μωρέ, ώστε να διαμαρτύρεστε κάποιοι, έστω και λίγοι, όταν τον αποκαλώ, δημόσια, μητροπαλήτη ή όπως αλλιώς, ενώ ΟΛΟΙ ανεξαιρέτως συμφωνείτε μαζί μου, στα κρυφά;
I am glad to hear that Fr. Kyriakos Wagner has received a settlement, even though the Metropolis has chosen not to admit any fault by settling out of court. As a close friend of Fr. Kyriako, I know what he has gone through as a non-Greek priest in this Metropolis. Fr. Kyriako took the Metropolis to human rights court claiming that he was being discriminated against because he was not Greek. He was placed in Peterborough almost a decade ago and was told it would be temporary because one cannot survive on the small salary of the parish. Being obedient, he went without complaint and over the next several years, a midst financial and marital problems (caused by the location he was sent) he repeatedly requested a transfer to a larger community that could support him and that would be closer to his wife's job at the University of Toronto. His please fell upon deaf ears, the result being his wife divorcing him and he having to find menial job around town to survive.
ReplyDeleteThe Metropolitan has stated that Fr. Kyriakos' claims of discrimination are not true and that the Metropolis does not discriminate against non-Greeks. But this is not true. If you look at the non-Greek priests we have serving under our Metropolis, Priests like Fr. Anatoly Bandura (Ukrainian) and Fr. Christian Socosan (Romanian) they are both in pretty bad parishes and make way less than the average priest. even though both are fluent in Greek, both hold advanced degrees from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and one of them even had a Ph.D. in Old Testament Hebrew! They are more educated than many of the priests and yest both of them have been sent to the most remote and poorest communities. Fr. Bandura was in Barrie and now is in Belleville. He suffers economically. Fr. Socosan was in Sudbury for many years, not being able to survive financially, and now is serving in the small chapel at the Greek Hellenic Home in Toronto. Still not allowed to go to a prominent parish. And while all this is happening, we have priests like Fr. Phillipa at St. John's who never even studied theology! He has a bachelor's degree in education (Athens) and a masters in library science (western Univsersity). And yet, he is placed at one of the biggest and better paying parishes when he doesn't even have the qualifications to be a priest!
So does the Metropolis discriminate? YES!
