Είναι έτσι όπως τα λες αγαπητέ. Και το ευχάριστο για μένα είναι το ότι ο Καναδάς και ειδικότερα το Τορόντο δεν θα ξεμείνει από Αθανασούλα, για τα επώμενα 50 τουλάχιστο χρόνια ακόμα, μετά την παραίτηση του Σωτήριου ο οποίος ανέβασε για πάνω από 50 χρόνια την εκκλησία σε μεγάλες επιτυχίες. είδατε πιστεύω όλοι σας πόσα εκατομμύρια κόσμος μαζεύτικε έξω από τις εκκλησιές μας τόσο στην περιφορά του επιταφίου όσο και στην ανάσταση!! Εκείνο που δεν μας λέει κανένας ακ'ομα είναι για την τύχη του δεύτερου νεοχειροτονηθέντα Επίσκοπου Ζηνουπόλεως Ιάκωβου. Πήγε τελικά να βρει τον Μοστράτο ή τον ξαπόστειλαν κάπου αλλού και δεν το λένε; Σωτήριε, τι γίνεται; Εσύ αντίποδαρα έχεις να μας πεις κάτι παραπάνω;
ReplyDeleteΕγώ πάλι γιατί νομίζω ότι δεν μπορεί να αναλάβει ιερατικώς προϊστάμενος στον αϊγιάννη, ένα νεοφώτιστο παιδαρέλι, όπως ο παπαΒαγγέλης; Διότι στην μεγαλύτερη εκκλησία του Τορόντο δεν μπορεί να ορίσει έναν αμαθεί, από την ακαδημία του. Μάλλον σε κάποιον Χριστιανό προσανατολίζεται, αλλά δεν είμαι σίγουρος και δεν θέλω να βρει ο άνθρωπος τον Βελά του. Περιμένω όπως και σεις, και στο κάτω κάτω δεν είναι και τόσο σοβαρό το θέμα. Όλοι τα ίδια κόπρανα είναι....

DeleteSotirios made his nephew Fr Evangelos a “celibate priest” just like Sotirios was. So not a monk but not a married priest. It’s an innovation from Archbishop Iakovos's days when anything went because the Patriarch didn’t have enough power to stop him and that’s why we have so many hierarchs across America who haven’t stepped foot in a monastery and think the church is a business and that money and power is the goal.
When will Sotirios make his nephew a bishop? It’s hard to say since he’s only in his late 20s and bishops aren’t historically made younger than 35. Just like how priests aren’t supposed to be ordained until they’re 30 but when you’re desperate for priests they can use the economia card. (The canons of the church have minimum ages for ordinations.) With enough of OUR money to the Patriarchate, I wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes a bishop before he’s 30.
As for him going to St John’s, nothing says suck it GCT than putting his own blood in one of their churches. The only hopeful thing is that Sotirios told clergy in Quebec that his nephew is coming at the end of May from Greece—so in a few weeks—and will be put at Holy Cross in Lavalle, the big church former bishop Bartholomew was at. But you also never know with Sotirios. He says a lot of things and then pulls a fast one. Like he did with Fr Theo and St John’s and then blindsided the GCT and President Skoutakis showed up to the Archdiocese to yell at Sotirios and then walked out. Nothing would anger the GCT more than Sotirios putting his family into the community he has spent his life trying to destroy.
As for Fr Evangelos being too inexperienced and young to be put at a large parish like St John’s or Holy Cross, you need not look further than St Nick’s church which has a priest who is now in his 3rd year of seminary. Or the church in Kingston who also has a priest who is still in seminary. While it’s crazy, and in America you can’t even become a head priest of a parish (proestamenos) without a Masters degree, it’s a free for all here. Sotirios behaves like a dictator and does whatever he wants whenever he wants.
Sotirios wasn’t even going to make his nephew a priest until next year but after the massive shit storms with Bishops Iakovos and Athenagoras who both complained to the Patriarch and shit talked Sotirios to Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon (the #2 at the Patriarchate), he knows his time as Archbishop is coming to an end whether he likes it or not after his jubilee in December. His nephew isn’t ready to be a priest and this was forced on him by his uncle Sotirios who desperately wants to find a way to control Canada after he’s removed. It’s all about power and money for this Archbishop. If you look at photos of his nephews ordination it looks like the kid shit his pants. But when you’re doing pretty much nothing in Greece and you’re promised to be made a Bishop, the power is appealing to many.
Just look how bat shit crazy Bishop Iakovos became for power that he blew up his own future in Canada. This is what happens when you’re not mentally or spiritually well. Those who want power are the least deserving of it.

Αντι να ενδιαφερθούμε για τα δικά μας προβλήματα ασχολούμαστε με τον Σωτήριο. Ο Σωτήριος θά τελειώσει σύντομα λόγω ηλικίας.
Τωρα κάποιοι σταματήσανε να μιλάνε για το Fr.Ted και τους άλλους και το μεγάλο ερωτημα είναι που θα πάει ο παπά Βαγγέλης.

It's just that Bishop Iakovos and Sotirio's nephew have been front and center for now. And ya the GCT should worry if he Sotirios puts his mini-him nephew at St John’s. Also Sotirios isn't stepping down because of his age, it's because the Patriarch wants him to after the end of this year. If Sotiros had his way he’d stay until his last breath.
