Since the medical issue with Sotirios happened at Prophet Elias and since the Phanar found out, a controversial Metropolitan has given a “donation” to Patriarch Bartholomew in the amount of $250,000 USD with the expectation of taking over Canada. 

This is a hierarch that is even a bigger asshole than Sotirios, and yes it’s possible. He also treats his Metropolis finances like a personal slush fund for lavish meals, trips, etc. He hates monastics and monasteries even though a large piece of land was given to his Metropolis to build a monastery, he never actually built a monastery and prohibited any monastic dwellings. He has temper tantrums far worse than Bishop Iakovos (who used to be in Montreal). Canada is the most conservative and traditional region in the Greek Orthodox world so it will be interesting to see if the Patriarch would put someone like that in Canada who would also have access to $140 million worth of assets. I never thought I’d say this but if it was between him and Sotirios I would pick Sotirios.

This is not the first hierarch that has given the Patriarch “donations” with the hope of taking over Canada. We know that Bishop Iakovos who used to be in Canada did so as well with money from St Nick’s Church through his besties Merkel/Archon Evan. Too bad there’s no refunds on donations LOLOL. There’s a Metropolitan in Europe and at the Patriarchate that are itching for Canada but I don’t know if they’ve given a “donation.”

The churches have never been as empty as now in Canada. If the Patriarch wants them to be completely empty then he can send us one of those vlakes but there’s no way the church will last.

Also, if the Patriarch sends us a vlakas there is no doubt there will be a schism across North America and a Greek Orthodox North American Vicariate under the Russians will be established. The monasteries who once were so terrified of Metropolitan Emmanuel becoming Archbishop of America no longer support the better option available at the time: Archbishop Elpidophoros. The last straw is when Elpidophoros approved his lefty minion Deacon Chryssavgis to have the media publish an opinion piece from him under the banner of the Archdiocese of America attacking not just Mount Athos but all monastics. And no one should underestimate the monasteries silence for acceptance of Elpidophoros’ lefty and strategically idiotic behaviour. They are waiting to strike and are quietly getting organized not just across North America but with other regions in Europe. What people don’t understand is that millions of dollars leave Canada every year to monasteries in America and Greece—the largest financial supporters of the monasteries in the world come from Canada. So much so that under Archbishop Demetrios he tried to get Canada to have to send the money to the monasteries to America to go through his Archdiocese and then he pinky swore he would send the money to the monasteries while he was busy already misappropriating funds from St Nick’s ground zero church. Sotirios has also tried many many times to get the money being sent out to international monasteries to go through our Archdiocese. The response is always the same, laughing in his face.

The Patriarch should watch out who he sends to Canada if he doesn’t want a schism and if he wants the $1.8 million a year from us, especially since the financials released from the Archdiocese of America show they are only giving him $1.5M for over 500 churches which is a joke when you compare it to Canada.
