Είναι δυνατόν να συνεχίζουν να συμβαίνουν τούτα τα πράματα, μωρέ, Σωτήρη;

A couple of former priests from St Nick’s Church told me that the school is operated through cash between the school and Tasia (Merkel) Sotiropoulos. And that they’ve witnessed the exchange of cash.

The former St Nick’s priests also said if the government was to look into what’s going on with the banquet hall books too that there’d be serious trouble for the church. It’s mostly run by cash, so if you pay cash to rent the banquet hall then you don’t have to pay taxes so they get to save money that’s the way it’s presented to people. Those priests also said, including to other clergy, that there’s an issue with the tax receipts for donations for St Nick’s church. So someone goes and tries to give Tasia a donation for $1000 and she tells them if they give her more like $3000 or $4000 that she would give them a tax receipt for $10,000 so they’d get back more from the government so they wouldn’t be actually having to give much to the church. Former priests said that they witnessed that happen inside St Nick’s church multiple times with Tasia. She’s surprisingly not quiet about it, she does it in front of others to witness as if she doesn’t care and it’s her signature on the church donation receipts. Not sure but doesn’t this sound like what happened at All Saints under Fr John K? Also, the new cash money rental is if you go to St Nick’s now the glass windows to the basement are covered up because 2 times during the week they rent it out for cash to a Buddhist or Hindu faith group for worship, I’m not sure the difference but it’s one of those religions. So after evening church services the people in the church can’t go downstairs for coffee because it’s being used by another faith group. They come in through the side door and not the main doors so no one sees them that way but anyone who is pulling up to the church or leaving can see this group come and go in from that door. I would have thought our churches could not be used for worship by a non-orthodox Christians but I don’t know the rules. I don’t know who to tell any of this to since no one seems to care at the Archdiocese and Archbishop Sotirios doesn’t have a problem with what’s going on at St Nick’s despite the complaints from the former priests to him. I just worry that the church might get shut down or that the church loses its non-for-profit status which I was told is hard to get back.

  2. I’m sorry what is happening in the church basement of St. Nick’s?? Another religious group is worshipping in a consecrated holy Orthodox Church?? How is this even allowed?? Anything to make a buck.

    2. Agreed Nikona. Who is going to stop them? People just need to stop going there, it’s hard to run a church when nobody shows up. There are other churches near by like St John’s, the Danforth churches. People need to wake up and walk out. They’re part of the problem for tolerating this insanity instead of being part of the solution. Enough of this shit already.

  3. The cannot shut the church down. All they will do is revoke it’s charitable status.
The Archdiocese will claim they know nothing including the rent from the childcare. They will bury Merkle because that is their standard M O. Then they will put another idiot to do the same stuff.

    CRA has been advised.

    2. 12:00 AM. It’s not the separate banquet hall that is being used for worship by another faith. It’s in the actual church basement. When a Church is concentrated and they go around the building they don’t just do it for the main and upper floors, the entire building is blessed. It’s a holy church.

What’s done at the banquet hall is a very different story. So no, having others worship a faith that is not remotely orthodox while faithful upstairs and worshipping during the Paraklesis for Panagia is not okay. And on top of it, prohibiting your own faithful members to go downstairs to use the bathrooms or have coffee for fellowship after service for that is unbelievable. The priority is the faithful. And if Merkel wasn’t doing anything wrong why did she cover up the glass windows for the first time ever when she started renting out the basement for others to worship?

Let’s stop pretending it’s ok to say have Hindu’s worshipping in our church when our own church prohibits us from doing yoga. Hypocrisy much? The church is not first a business, first it’s Christ’s house, unfortunately some don’t understand that.

    3. I think I have made my feelings well known about our church leaders over the last 15+ years.

Having got this off my chest for the thousandth time and to please the blind female believers i respect . I have the following to say again:

If you want your church find a way to make it self sustaining.
      That includes the following:
1.Paying your priests a descent salary WITH benefits and a pension to support their family and for when they retire .
      2. Like condominiums have a reserve study done to cover the constant deteriorating of the physical structure. Some people call this depreciation or amortization.
      3. have a full time cantor /church secretary
      4. funding the preparation/education of the next generation of priests.
      5. fulltime church secretary ( ideally if the priest is not computer literate)
      6. a PR person ( could be the church /secretary) to communicate to the congregation thru Facebook/Twitter/ instagram NOT paid for newspapers) etc.
      7. Support the institution Archdiocese/Orthodox church ONLY if it fully transparent.

Every week let the congregation sees ALL the above as a shortfall or surplus AND make it abundantly clear that if you wont support all the above the church will be sold to a developer or god forbid another religion that can pay.

So put up or shut up and stop preaching about consecrated ground being used by another faith WE COULD CARE LESS.
In the famous words of a brutal Canadian resident Archbishop of faith " it's just business".

    9. 1 Agreed and this can and should be done now in gct churches. In non gct churches its already being done. of course salary is always determined by parish size as well.

2 hmmm this is an interesting one. St johns in Jan 2022 didnt have heat for what 6 weeks? proper maintenance funding maybe. and how bout we stop collecting money for the eternal roof leaks. shouldn’t they be fixed by now?

3 yes to both. how bout having an age limit so that these old dinosaurs will actually allow for younger guys to take over. succession planing. oh sorry they wont go because the $1000 you pay them is sweet. think about it, thats $12k per year @ about 30 years plus for 3 gct churches. thats $360k you’ve paid to each of these guys. my math is bad but you get the idea.

4 you guys are poisoned by this diocese but being a priest is a spiritual thing not a money thing. priests don’t get educated in schools. this is to long to explain here but look at recent sts like paisios, iakovos etc.

5 agreed. can be done now and all non gct churches have one either full time or part time based on parish community size.

6 most non gct parishes have this in one form or another.

7 all churches serve under a bishop. whether you like it or not. you would know this if you knew how the church actually works. you cannot be independent of a diocese or metropolis for any reason. There is canon law which can be used against bishops snd clergy for mismanagement especially of money

  7. 7:16 re: your #4 -- you're comparing a holy monk like Saint Paisios as your argument for priests not needing to be educated in theological school? Are you for real?

You obviously have zero idea between the difference of a monk and an archimandrite. Saint Porphyrios because he was also a priest had to go to school to learn how to do liturgics etc etc etc. Saint Nektarios was also a monk who then became a priest and then bishop; he was also educated in school. St John Chrysostom also educated. An education for priests is a must. You can't become a priest in America without a Masters. In Canada Sotirios will make any guy who barely has a heartbeat which is why we have some terrible and useless priests. You can't even become a Bishop in our church without a Masters in theology.

Saint Paisios was holy and he was enlightened from God. Most monks, especially priests, bishops are not holy or enlightened. Name just one holy priest or bishop in Canada? Just one. I can't. But I can write a list of which priests and bishops do things against the canons of the church or against the law.

As for #7 -- there can be as many canons in the church but if they're not enforced then they're as useless as jaywalking laws. And who exactly would you report things the clergy are doing against the canons? The non-existent HR department in Canada? Or the non-existent HR department in Turkey? This isn't a well-oiled machine like the Catholic Church, you can't even subscribe for an email on the archdiocese website. A kids lemonade stand is more sophisticated than our church in Canada.

You are either not close to the church since you clearly don't understand the reality of things or you're just a terrible spinner for Sotirios. Either way you're wrong. Maybe try reading a book for starters.

  8. St Iakovos’ family were poor and he couldn't afford to continue school but read up what happened after that. And if you're going to mention a monk like St Paisios you should go stay at a monastery for a few months and see how much they have to read, even during meals, it's like going to the army it's so regimented and hard and it's 19-hours a day of that.

Your argument is as dumb as people say well successful X millionaire doesn't have a college or university degree so why should I? Those people like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerburg we're bored in school because they're brilliant and dropped out because they already started their own work. They're self-taught because they're brilliant. The average IQ today is only 100. The percentage of people who have high IQs are a couple of percent in the entire world. You can’t compare.

Just like you can't compare a holy person to a someone who is not. They have spiritual gifts that are rare. In America there's a handful of holy people and they're in monasteries and they all have Spritual Fathers who kick their asses all day every day. Do you even have a spiritual father? Do you see him or talk to him how often? Do you actually have work to do that he gives you? Then compare it to a monastic. And give your head a shake.

      Maybe don't make
stupid arguments and bring in Saints like Paisios and Iakovos to justify our dummy priests in Canada. Try reading a book for once. Newsflash: you can know about the Saints without being a fanatic. But clearly you can't talk about the Saints because you're as dumb as our priests.

Hes saying to refer to those saints for more info on how priests get educated. He also says that its to long to explain on a post. So why are you being an idiot? the fanatic monastery types respond like you did. and btw if you believe in gay marriage and them being allowed to adopt children, you are outside of the church. go speak to your geronda and in sure you will get a few months penance from communion.

    1. 11:22 you clearly didn't look at 7:16 #4 and he cares about it since that was his argument for why our priests do not require an actual theological education. When a theological degree should be mandated like in America, except Sotirios will ordaine anyone a priest even if they don't pass their psychological test or have any academical education. I think people do care about the quality of our clergy. Which is why the people at St Nick’s are not happy that Sotirios sent them a student priest who is still in school with no theological degree. You might not care, but there are lots who do.

      Delete
  11. Clearly you all know nothing about what you speak 11:22 and 11:42. Having a theological degree, masters, or phd means nothing. you need it to move up the ranks but spiritually it means nothing. Look at the late geronta Efraim in Arizona who will be a saint soon officially. What theological education did he have? In my opinion one better then you can get from that written on the toilet paper handed out in these worldly universities. Yet he served as a priest, he built over 15 monasteries and he is respected worldwide, and he was full of the grace of God. That should be your example and not these globalist ecumenist bullshit artists like Elpidoktonos because they have degrees. And yes sts Paisios, Iakovos, Porfirios also talked about this and if you bothered to do your research you would know what they said on the topic. The guy who posted #4 above is correct.

    1. 2:10 pm-- you can’t compare holy people to those who are not. There's a huge difference between clergy who are not and those RARE ones that are holy.

You're only mentioning specific saints not specific average priests or monks. You're comparing apples to organges. Your logic doesn't apply to the average clergy.

It's the same basis of, oh I don't need a degree to get a job because Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg didn't need one. Well they’re brilliant and have high IQs. But that couldn't logic can't apply to the average person who's IQ is only 100.

You are only looking at the minority, the exceptions to the rule, not the average. So no you're not right because your argument can't apply to any clergy in Canada because none of them are holy. So yes they do need to learn from people who know in a structured environment like university. Just like monks are taught by people who knos in structures environments such as monasteries.

I don't get how you can’t comprehend this. You are clearly not the minority. Do us a favour and don't become clergy, we don't need another low IQ, big ego, uneducated, dummy in Canada.

And as an FYI most monasteries in Greece and North America encourage future monastics to finish school. There are some monasteries who won't let you join if you haven’t completed school. Monastaries need intelligent people to operate it and add value, you cant just show up and say I brought my bags and I'm moving in. Check how many monastics on Mount Athos have degrees, many of them. Some even with PhDs.

You pretend to know how things work and you just aren't close enough to understand or you just don't get it.

The way he found out was through the mothers of a few of the monks who went to the monastery and couldn’t find their kids or anyone there. Eventually when the monks made contact with their mothers people found out they went to America. How many more monasteries does Canada even need? And Sotirios has tried with different monastics to try to open up a mens monastery but everyone says no to him even though he will offer them the land. Fool me once…

  14. 2:10 PM : you say that Geronta Ephraim of Arizona “will be a saint soon officially.” You say “SOON,” is that what the Patriarch told you? Because that’s historically not the timing of canonization in the Church, something else you clearly know nothing about.

And news flash, do you know the only people permitted to canonize a saint in our church are as you say those: “globalists ecumenist bullshit artists” better know as the His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the hierarchs of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church.

In fact, the push to declare St. Joseph the Hesychast in 2020 (who died in 1959) was from as you so eloquently called him “globalists ecumenist bullshit artists like Elpidoktonos” after he met with Geronta Ephraim at St. Anthony’s monastery, which was one of his first stops when he moved to America. His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros wanted to ensure his Geronta was declared a Saint by the Phanar prior to him passing so he could experience the day. And that’s exactly what happened. I think the words you are looking for are, thank you Your Eminence.

So maybe try showing some respect rather than behaving like a 3 year old having a temper tantrum with your name calling. Amateur.

    ReplyDelete
  15. no 8:34, your ecumenist globalist elpidoktonos said it at his funeral. the only amateur is you. your trying to defend the indefensible. Antipodas has been pointing this out for a few years now although he is focused on archbizness sotirios. they are all pharisees only interested in taking your money and your backside. elpidoktonos is the worst thing that could ever happen to america. you will see this more and more as time goes on. in fact you will start to see it as soon as you get your face out of his ass.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ask Geronta Paisios about the discussion that Archbishop Elpidophoros had with Geronta Ephraim about St Joseph at St Anthony’s. Ask him how soon after he landed in America did he go to St Anthony’s. Ask him why all of the monastics participate in his Monastic Synaxis that he started in 2019? And show him these messages of how you speak about him and let me know what he says because you sound full of hate, judgement and slander.

And again, the only reason St Joseph or any of the saints you list were canonized is because of the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarch and the hierarchs like Archbishop Elpidophoros. So maybe try saying thank you instead.

And because of insane fanatics like you that’s why you will see that Geronta Ephraim won’t be canonized in your lifetime because people like you will have a bigger icon of him instead of Christ. Because doing so would perpetuate fanaticism. And it will be nobodies fault but his own spiritual children who drank the Koolaid.

Don’t you have a mega athansios meeting to go to now?

    ReplyDelete
  17. 12:17 why don’t you show all your messages to your Geronta. There’s no any sane Geronta would be ok with how you speak. You’re so busy spewing hate. You behave neither like Geronta Ephraim or Christ, but you’re sure giving Lucifer a run for his money.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 12:27 as to your comment about hierarchs like Elpidophoros are “only interested in taking your money and backside”

Well let’s stop pretending that monasteries don’t ask for money either, that they don’t take around the holy icons or relics they have to collect money, that they don’t ask people to help them with fundraisers. And let’s stop pretending that sexual abuse hasn’t happened in the monasteries either, both in America, Greece, and Mount Athos. There was even a former nun at the monastery in Bolton who spoke out to the English media about the abuse she endured from Abbott and nuns.

You seem to believe because someone is a monk that they’re holy. Well news flash, most hierarchs were first monks. (Except for the dark period of Archbishop Iakovos of N/S America when we ended up with the majority of the metropolitans across N/S America being these fake “celibate priests.” St Nektarios was a monk and a hierarch, and there are many more. Holiness can be found in anyone, as can evil.

As for Archbishop Elpidophoros, I’d bet anyone that despite how the path looks that God will make a path that he will become the next Patriarch. In a few years I’ll come back on this blog to remind you of my words.

Go ask the priests about the clergy Synaxis he had a few years ago to explain them how to fill out the baptismal forms if there’s no mother or no father. I personally think it’s one of the very few humane things he’s done over 50 years but I’m guessing your mega athansios cult leader might disagree. Also go find out about the vote that happened at the synod meeting in Turkey the last time he was on rotation to sit on it. He put foward a motion to have multiple spoons the new form for communion around the globe. It only lost by one vote, but he’s very proud how close he was, he tells anyone who will listen to his boring stories. He even has the confidential synod minutes that he shows people about the vote count at the Archdiocese. You have no idea who Sotirios is because you have such a hard on for Elpidophoros.
