Γιατί το επιτρέπει ο Θεός;

Μια σύντομη ιστορία για τον αρχιεπίσκοπο, π. Αμερικης Σπυρίδωνα και τον …δικό μας (:) επιχειρηματία Σωτήριο.!

Φίλος αναγνώστης μας, με αφορμή τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις στις σχέσεις Κοινότητας – Αρχιεπισκοπής και την επιμονή του Σωτήριου να πετύχει περισσότερα οικονομικά οφέλη για τον εαυτό του, πρωτίστως, και την Εκκλησία δευτερευόντως, προβαίνει σε μια σύντομη σύγκριση δυοο ιεραρχών, γράφοντας  και τα εξής:

Read up on Archbishop Spyridon in America who was forced to resign in 1999, God didn’t remove him, the people did. The embattled archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America resigned Thursday, bowing to disgruntled members of his flock who have been trying for months to persuade reluctant church leaders in Turkey to remove him.” “In an unprecedented action, the head of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America resigned Thursday following more than two years of bitter controversy sparked by what critics called his stubbornly autocratic style unsuited to a church that had moved beyond its immigrant roots.” “Archbishop Spyridon, the embattled spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in America who faced mounting opposition from his laity, priests and hierarchs, resigned yesterday.” It’s doable in Canada and I’d say the last 1.5 years has been the most hostile time against Sotirios I’ve ever witnessed by the faithful, priests and now even his bishops. The overwhelming majority of Greek Canadians have one thing in common, (regardless if they’re GCTer or not, one spooner or not, have a Geronda or not, are Philoptochos or Pronia etc.), their contempt for Sotirios. I’ve never seen so many people dislike a leader in any community and those that have a lot of people who hate them also have a solid base of people who blindly love them. This is not the case with Sotirios anymore, his base of supporters has eroded across the country. I’d say this is a perfect storm. I’d say this is the blessing we’ve all been praying for
