The $8M euro property Sotirios purchased with Archdiocese money is in one of the most high end places. Glyfada’s coast line is called the Athenian Riviera. It’s a secluded area near Athens where public transportation was stopped by the community because they don’t want poor people there. Nothing says elitists like that.

When you look at the current property values there for $8M euro ($12M cnd) it most likely is not a single condo but a complex or a villa.

It’s disturbing Sotirios is using parishioners money to purchase things in secrecy. I’ve never heard of such a lack of transparency. I’d be curious to know who is using that property. And also who is using the mansion on Teddington that the Archdiocese owns through St Nick’s.

This Archdiocese doesn’t even both to help the poor or help the parishioners with anything but somehow Sotirios thinks a mansion in one of the swankiest neighborhood in Toronto and a condo in one of the most elite places in Greece is ok.

It’s great the CRA is looking into this and the friend of the CRA is keeping us apprised. Who knows maybe Sotirios bought a yacht with our money too?

  1. Sotirios has made sure he together with the Archdiocese has been added as a beneficiary in a few wills over the years. Somewhere to the tune of $8 -$12 million. I bet the Patriarch was not aware of that.
Cliff Mistios and some lady out of Vancouver. There are a few more that even I am not aware of which he takes pride in telling us.

    1. It’s more than $12M. One person I know gave $8M from their will. And there was someone else for about $10M. So it’s a lot more.

  2. You did indeed forget about the medium in size yacht which too is off the books.

  3. Καλά ρε σεις κύριοι, μόνο ο Σωτήριος κάνει τέτοιες αλχημείες και όχι το υπόλοιπο συνβούλιο της αρχιεπισκοπής; Όλοι αυτοί γιατί δεν λένε τίποτα για τα καμώματα του αφεντικού τους; Μήπως είναι λίγο ανακατωμένοι ή απλά δεν ξέρουν τίποτα για το φόνο; Και κανένας από αυτούς δεν διαβάζει αντίποδα για να αναρωτηθεί και να ψάξει λίγο το ζήτημα; Γιατί τόσο αδιαφορία για τόσο σοβαρά θέματα που έχουν νακάνουν με τα οικονομικά της εκκλησίας; Πού βρίσκει τόσα λεφτά ο Σωτήριος, εργάζεται ίσως και σε κάποια άλλη δουλειά και τα παίρνει μαύρα μήπως;

  4. 6:13 pm. It’s all Archdiocese money. They are assets of the Archdiocese. Remember Sotirios has raised tens of millions for the Academy. And not a cent has been used for the school and I don’t see all that money on the books either, do you friend of CRA? And yes it’s true some of that money came from dying people Sotirios manipulated to get them to sign over their wills to the Academy. Except again a cent has not been used on the Academy. They don’t even have a website. The dorms have never been updated. Nothing.

There’s a centennial book with photos and blurbs about all the hierarchs who served the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America including North and South America, so Sotirios is in it. Sotirios brags in his bio about all the properties including:

“And as throughout his ministry added FIFTEEN properties to the number of properties of the Archdiocese of Canada totaling a value of about $140 MILLION.”

I have a photo of this book from America printed in honour of their centennial last year. I hope our CRA friend can let them know.

  5. 5:38 pm. A mid-sized yacht would not surprise me given there’s the top yacht club in Greece on the shores of Glyfada where the secret property is.

  6. Sunday at St Demetrios, Sotirios said we all need to give at least 10% of our earning to the church. He listed other orthodox communities in Canada and how much a percentage people donate to there churches, and how others build all these new churches and community centres, yet we have nothing. Maybe if the Archdiosese wasn't so corrupt and more transparent with what it does with OUR money, more people would be donating.

    1. hey 11:53, maybe you can donate your 10% to the GCT. And they will build you a community center.

  7. Mike, don't hold your breath on the transparency. You can try and ask nicely the Archdiocease to give you their financials. I guiarantee the answer will be NO!. Step two as a previous writer has successfully done ask CRA to give you a copy of the charity's financials. CRA cannot refuse to give them to you all they can do is redact stuff they are investigating. GCT on the other hand will give you their financials all the way back to 1999.

    1. The guy who works at the finance Dept. of the Archdiocese knows details about all the finance issues. He has blind obedience to Sotirios for he doesn't want to loose his job.

  8. If what has been written above is true, then others in the inner circle / loyal followers are most likely involved too. Let us hope to God it is not true and that all the monies raised by the Archdiocese are used for perpetuating and promoting our religion.

    1. 2:36 you’re funny. We all know that no money has been invested by our “spiritual” leader for anything useful involving the faith. The money is either hoarded, sent to the Patriarchate, or spent on mansions, high end condos and yachts. He’s the same “spiritual” leader who sold the kids church camp in Ontario and the majority of the money was a gift from HHF. Absolute degenerate.

Sotirios just cares what the total value of assets and how much money is in the bank when he retires so he can brag to the lavender mafia. He only cares about this sign: $ not this sign: +

  9. Give 10% so that Skoutakis and the rest of the GCT can give it all to him. Absolutely NOT!!

  10. Nikonass would NEVER have built a community centre without 100% funding in place. You must be confusing me for somebody else.

  12. I don’t understand nikonaass. How is Sotirios preventing you or the Greek community from being successful and making money? Oh I see if it wasn’t for the institution which he runs by the authority of Christ and canon law, the GCT wouldn’t exist and you wouldn’t be able to sabotage microphone and speaker systems when he visits GCT churches. Aside from that why cant the GCT be able to sustain itself, offer services to the greek people …. oh I forgot if it wasnt for the church you cant do all that because you have no money or non church related income. Anyway you collect what $100k from your 700 members, most of which are forced through baptisms and funerals. Sotirios gives 10x or even 20x that to Bartholomew. So because you and the GCT are failures you resort to turning yourself into a Judas of the 21 century by ratting him out to the CRA. And you say it proudly too! I dont feel sorry for you, but I do for your inferiority complex. Btw the CRA is not going to do anything so dont get your hopes up too high. But if they did so something wouldnt you be ashamed to show your mug in public? How come the other churches in the GTA and ones that he manages are all fine economically, weathered the covid lockdowns, all have sources of income from non church sources?

  13. If CRA does nail anybody for transgressions they most likely deserve the punishment they get. I either way will sleep with a very clean conscious irrespective of what you chicken shits say anonymously about me.

Go have a great day and if your boss has not done anything wrong CRA will leave him alone. Don’t bet on it.

  14. All the churches you moron across Canada are empty not because of Nikonass but because Sotirios worships the almighty dollar. He screws his priests by moving them and their families to get even with them. He gets people with small minds like Sofia/ Merkle to steal from their priests and give to another bishop Iakovos. Let’s see how long Fr. Theo stays at his new assignment and let’s see how much his father wins at the human rights tribunal. I bet north of $200k for age discrimination.

God last time I looked is just and takes care of the righteous. As for Artemakis and his Tesla he had that and many more before he waisted his time with the GCT. Why doesn’t your boss address how he got the millions for himself inside the Employee Benefit Trusts and the Bishop’s pension which is for him only?
The only mistake the two short idiots Artemakis and Nikonass did make was not getting the GCT out of the church business by selling all the church properties.

  16. If what you say is true why did the Archbishop not force the GCT to accept the UCR by changing its bylaws when he had the GCT by the balls? The GCT would be better off selling all the empty churches and building whorehouses or bingo halls.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The fact of the matter is nobody had anybody by "the balls ". The Archbishop knew that acceptance of the UCR by the GCT for anything but a priest's stipend and the annual franchise fee as a guideline was a complete deal breaker.
