On Tuesday at 3 pm at Archangels Church in Quebec, Canada, Archbishop Sotirios held a mandatory meeting with all clergy across the province of Quebec, including the retired priests. Sotirios informed them that a couple of weeks ago, he sent Iakovos a letter informing him that he is permanently removed as Proistamenos of St. George Church in Montreal and Regional Vicar of Quebec and that his only option left is to move to Toronto in the Archdiocese under his direct supervision and wrote how incompetent he is. So now Iakovos’ only option is to move to Toronto and be babysat by the Archbishop or never return to Canada.
Return from where you ask? Well, Bishop Iakovos took off for Greece in January — yes, 3 MONTHS AGO — after the huge blow-up between him and the Greek Community of Montreal, and he still hasn’t returned. The blow-up with the Greek Community resulted in the board of directors resigning on mass. The verbal abuse, screaming, and threats from Bishop Iakovos were so severe that the Greek community in Montreal turned against him. The clergy across the province of Quebec already hate Iakovos for years of extreme verbal abuse, threatening them and their families and trying to control the priests severely.
Last month, Iakovos lied to Sotirios and said that he got hit by a bicycle and couldn’t fly back to Canada because he can’t walk. [Remember two summers ago after he stole $30K from his church Philoptochos and fled to Greece for 3 months and told Sotirios he got hit by a car in Greece and couldn’t fly back but was caught in photos climbing Mount Athos?] Well this time it was a bicycle, not sure if it was an adult bike or kids bike. Except this past weekend, two photos appeared on Iakovos Krochak’s Facebook account at the Patriarchate with no cane or anything, the Phanar confirmed to Sotirios that Iakovos was not only able-bodied and had nothing helping him walk but that he was jumping up the stairs with two feet at a time as kids do. And on the ec-patr.org webpage, Bishop Iakovos is listed as having a meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew this past Friday.
Iakovos informed Sotirios that he would go and meet with the Patriarch, and Sotirios told him that he didn’t think that’s a good idea and that he shouldn’t go. But in true Iakovos style, he went anyway.
In that record time short meeting, Bishop Iakovos thought it was smart to begin by shit-talking Archbishop Sotirios. Read that again. And then essentially begged the Patriarch to give him anything that looked like “a promotion” so he could leave Canada with his head held high. A promotion for a Bishop would be one of the following options: Exarch, Metropolitan, or Archbishop (and if born in Turkey, a Bishop would be eligible to run for Patriarch if the spot has been vacated). The Patriarch said no, and that was the end of that. Archbishop Sotirios was informed of the meeting by the Patriarch himself and that Iakovos shit-talked him. Sotirios told the Quebec clergy in his 1 hour rant that Iakovos shit-talked him to the Patriarch — showing that if you want to play those games, you will lose.
So what happens to Bishop Iakovos now? Well, he’s asked the gay mafia of our church (which he is a member of) to help him find a diocese anywhere in Europe to take him as an Assistant Bishop. He’s been trying to secure a spot in Greece but has had no luck so far — no idea why no one wants such a nice and humble guy?
Let’s hope this is the last we see of Bishop Iakovos and let’s break out the champagne and celebrate!
No fucken way Sotirios finally did the right thing. Send him to StJohn. Then let’s see if Nikona kisses his hand.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best news that’s come out of the Archdiocese in I can’t even remember how long. And the best news I’ve read in Andipothas. Victory is ours.
DeleteAt this point, I might even kiss Sotirios’ hand if this means Iakovos is never coming back. I never thought this day would come.
Delete8:16 the chances of me kissing his hand are ZERO. I’ll leave it to the boys in the Barthalamew way hood.
DeleteNikona Georgakopoulos
Yes fucking way Sotirios did the right thing and the priests and faithful across Quebec are celebrating. They will never have to deal with Bishop Iakovos again! Start smashing the plates people.
ReplyDeleteBad news for Toronto though if he comes back and moves into our Archdiocese. But given over the past few years Iakovos has been bragging to everyone telling them that he will be the next Archbishop of Canada, including to the monks on Mount Athos, I don’t see how he comes back now after Patriarch Bartholomew told him he will not elevate him anywhere. Also, how does he come back to Toronto when the family of the altar boy he sexually abused at St Nick’s when he was the priest still goes there? It will cause chaos since other families know who it was too. It was enough chaos back then that Sotirios removed Iakovos from St Nick’s in the middle of the night and sent him to Montreal. I’m sensing a pattern.
Same pattern as the Catholics ship them somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteBad mouthing the Arch to the Patriarch and thinking he’d get a promotion following that has gotta be one of the stupidest things Bish Iakovos has done. His massive ego was always going to be the end of him.
ReplyDeleteNever thought I’d say this but bravo Archbishop Sotirios! Something we agree on.

If Iakovos does not come back to Canada *fingers crossed* it means that all the time (many years), plotting with his cabal (list below) and money (stolen from churches like his own and St Nick’s through Merkel) spent to try to make him Archbishop of Canada was all for nothing.
The biggest losers in all of this are Iakovos’ cabal left behind in Canada and exposed for their allegiance to him and their unethical and immoral actions to desperately try to get him the throne so they could control Canada.
1. Merkel/Tasia
2. Archon Evan
3. Fr Fanourios Pappas
4. Fr Peter Avryopoulos
5. Fr Ted Paraskevopoulos
I guess this means no more dinner meetings at Tasia’s house anymore?
You also forgot about Justine Frangoulis
DeleteYou also forgot Justine Frangoulis in mtl
DeleteNone of this is true of course. But keep fantasizing if that makes you feel better.
ReplyDelete8:21 PM because you were at the mandatory Clergy Synaxis meeting yesterday when Sotirios spoke for over an hour non-stop?
DeleteI know it’s hard to believe your bum buddy is done but call him up and ask him yourself when he’s coming back and if he’s still the Proistamenos of St George Church. Better yet go to St George yourself and ask them. Wait for him to come back…bring a sleeping bag and food you’ll be waiting a long time.
8:21: there are minutes from Tuesday’s clergy Synaxis meeting that would disagree with you. Your boy is outta Quebec. And I doubt he’ll step foot in Canada again except to pack his things. That’s what happens when you act like a spoiled brat and think you can fuck off to Greece for months at a time while lying to your boss.
DeleteThis is the 1st time on Andipothas I’ve seen people commend Archbishop Sotirios. I gotta give him kudos too. Well done Your Eminence, well done. Now the clergy across Quebec can breathe easier knowing that nightmare is f-i-n-a-l-l-y over.
ReplyDeleteMy question is where is Iakovos getting money from the last few weeks since Sotirios formally removed him in writing as the head parish priest for St George’s? So the parish council would have stopped paying him. I wonder how much Merkel at St Nick’s is “donating” to Iakovos?
ReplyDeleteIt was crazy and funny how quickly the news broke yesterday night after the clergy meeting. The priests couldn’t dial fast enough.
I gotta hand it to Sotirios, other leaders would have sucked it up and let Iakovos do whatever he wanted just to avoid any backlash for removing him from Quebec. People knew Iakovos had a difficult personality but no one expected him to act like a psychopath to his priests and Greek community. Say what you want, but Sotirios did the right thing and saved whoever his successor will be from a massive problem with Iakovos. No one would have been able to just walk in and kick Iakovos out. Sotirios could and he did.
ReplyDeleteWas Iakovos just released from parish priest of St George - Is he still considered the Bishop of Quebec and eastern Canada?
ReplyDeleteBish Iakovos has been:
Delete1. Removed as proistamenos (head parish priest) of St George in Montreal, in writing.
2. Removed him as Archdiocesan Vicar of Quebec and Eastern Canada, in writing.
3. Removed from living in Quebec and must move to Toronto. Also in writing.
The minutes of the “Montreal Clergy Synaxis” meeting from Tuesday were sent to all clergy across Canada yesterday. Item #2 “Changes in the Archdiocese” specifically says, “His Grace Bishop Iakovos has to move to Toronto.”
Iakovos left Montreal in shambles with the Greek community and the clergy across Quebec. He must remove Iakovos physically from Quebec because of the severity of his actions. On this one, I agree with the Archbishop 100%. Iakovos has done too much damage that can only begin to be repaired by removing him.
Is this embarrassing to Bishop Iakovos? Absolutely. But he has no one to blame but himself. The minutes of the meeting have circulated to hierarchs in America and the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which I suspect was the Archbishop’s point.
Iakovos can’t continue to take off for Greece whenever he wants for months at a time after he’s blown things up in Quebec. No boss in any industry anywhere would ever allow such behaviour. Anything Bish Iakovos touches turns into an explosive shit bomb.
There are no more archdiocese vicars as of yesterday. He's still in charge of youth stuff though.
ReplyDeleteFINALLY! THANK YOU ARCHBISHOP SOTIRIOS!
ReplyDelete1:14 // never thought of it like that. It’s true, it’s not easy to kick a hierarch out of their job AND cut off their pay in the Church AND with no backlash to the person that did it, in this case Sotirios. Now Iakovos is scrambling and trying to get the gay mafia to help him find a diocese to go to in Europe. Sotirios is going to bury him alive. Iakovos is done. And I’m here with my popcorn watching every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean he will spill the beans so to speak?
ReplyDeleteNot a troll and definitely don't like Sotirios but on this one, kicking out Iakovos from Quebec, I support his decision and tactics and say, he did something no other hierarch has done and it's about time we stop promoting problem bishops out and start publicly kicking them out. So yes, I will hold my nose and say: THANK YOU ARCHBISHOP SOTIRIOS! A JOB WELL DONE! I SUPPORT YOU 100% FOR KICKING OUT IAKOVOS!
DeleteThis is what karma is a bitch look like.
ReplyDeleteFor what Bish Iakovos did to Fr. Apostolos (St. Irenes), Presvytera and kids, and his family in Greece.
And to all the priests, presvyteres, nuns, Bish Salmas, and lay people across Canada that Iakovos threatened over the years and said, when I become Archbishop of Canada I will destroy you.
Well the jokes on you Bish Iakovos, Arch Sotirios did to you what you what you told others you'd do to them.
Now for all the people in Canada, America, Greece, Mount Athos, etc. etc. etc. who over many years you told us you will be the next Archbishop of Canada, what are you gonna tell us now Bish Iakovos?
And we want the hundreds of thousands of dollars you stole from our churches back, including from the Philoptochos.
And for the altar boys you sexually abused over the years Iakovos. I hope Sotirios buries you alive. (and no the irony isn't lots on me)

ReplyDeleteΌλες αυτές οι λεπτομέρειες με τα εκκλησιαστικά , τους παπάδες και την Αρχιεπισκοπή , μπορεί να είναι πίσω ,κάποιοι από τους παπάδες ,που μιλάνε και κατηγορούν κάποιους άλλους . Λίγο ντροπή δεν υπάρχει ;

ReplyDelete6:56 pm does it really hurt you that much that the real truth comes out vs the coverup that our church has been doing for ages? Let it all come out good and bad.
6:32 pm why can’t it all be true? Have you met our Archbishop? Iakovos is no different than him. Like Bishop Iakovos former largest donor said a few years ago when she cut him off financially: Iakovos is made in the image of Sotirios.
DeleteBang on. Couldn’t have said it better. Two dirt bags stealing from our churches and abusing altar boys and clergy. They’re twins, except Sotirios is much smarter.
Είναι μεγάλη εβδομάδα και παρακαλώ να κάνουμε νηστεία στα σχόλια και τις γνώμες.
