The vindictive priest transfers have begun by known pedophile Archbishop Sotirios and the most popular priest in Canada is the first one hit.
Last month Sotirios announced to the Ontario Synaxis priests that this would be the year of transfers. It’s his final year to settle all his scores from the last 50 years since he knows that once he gets to his 50-year jubilee this December, he will be required to resign shortly after, so in 2024. Sotirios isn’t missing a beat to completely destroy the Church before he’s kicked to the curb — hopefully literally, too.
Sotirios announced through email because he’s not a real leader or a real man (he’s part of the global Church gay mafia, officially known as the Lavender Mafia), that popular priest Fr. Theo Drakos from Prophet Elias Church has been transferred from the largest most successful parish in Canada. That is correct, this unmatched priest has amassed the largest Sunday School across the country, the largest youth group across the country, the largest philanthropic arm in the church, and yes, it’s bigger and far more productive than the useless National Philoptochos, is being transferred. For those who have never been to Prophet Elias, despite the church in Canada dying at the hands of faithless Sotirios, a regular Sunday nonetheless looks like Easter for other churches. Fr. Theo has been transferred because Sotirios is settling a score with his father, Fr. Paul Drakos, and he can’t touch his father since he’s suing Sotirios, so he’s going for the jugular and hitting his son in hopes that his father will withdraw the lawsuit — he’s not, and nor should he.
Fr. Theo has been transferred to the small empty dying church of Sts. Constantine and Helen in North York that has been completely neglected for the last few years at the hands of scandal-ridden priest Fr. Ted Paraskevopoulos, who is not permitted to be alone with females in the church unless it’s for confession and who is prohibited to attend any church services/events outside his own church where females will be. And generally known as the most arrogant priest in Canada. And you know the church under Sotirios is completely corrupt to its core since kleptomaniac Fr. Ted is being transferred to Prophet Elias because of a financial deal (more about this in another post) his “spiritual” father Fr Peter Avryopoulos from Toronto Panagia church made with Sotirios — no surprise it’s all about money and power for those guys.
It’s unclear yet if Fr. Theo will stay in Canada, given that this transfer is solely about settling a score with his father and not about the church and faithful. It’s no secret that Fr. Theo has open-ended offers to go to America, where he would never have to deal with Sotirios again and make more money headache-free. News of Fr. Theo’s transfer traveled quickly to the senior leadership in America who have been trying to recruit him for some time since the church in America not only needs more priests, but they especially need priests who specialize in youth and young adult ministries, and Fr. Theo is widely known as the best in Canada. If I were him, I would be leaning toward accepting one of the offers from America to shove it to sociopath Sotirios.
It’s also unclear what will happen between the Greek Community of Toronto (GCT) and the Archdiocese since Sotirios repeatedly gave his word to President Betty Skoutakis that he would transfer Fr. Theo from Prophet Elias to St. John Church in Scarborough. In fact, Skoutakis went so far as to sort out Fr. Theo’s compensation. Skoutakis was not given a courtesy heads-up either. And Sotirios is not returning her calls. And when she calls the main line no one will connect her to Sotirios.

Fr. Konstantinos from GCT St. Demetrios Church will also be transferred. Sotirios has said it himself and said it to him as well. Sotirios is still very upset with him that a couple of years ago he donated $500 to the GCT when they said they might have to sell a church. So this is his payback because of $500. Nothing says vindictive like this stupidity.
ReplyDeleteIt seems the transfer of father Theo and Ted is real as both churches websites have removed all info and pics of their parish priest. Is there any facts that father Konstantinos is leaving ST Demetrios? Who will replace him ? I know many will be mad if Sotirios moves him from our church.
DeleteOf course it’s real. The email letters were sent on Tuesday before noon and start date is March 1st. I was sent both letters just after they were sent out. That’s why I wrote that blog post. It won’t let me attach things so I couldn’t include Sotirios letters for you guys (they’re in Greek).
DeleteNo date has been set yet as to when Fr Konstantinos will be transferred. But he will. Remember this is the year of the transfers as Sotirios said on January 3rd. There will be more. It’s still unclear what Sotirios will do with St John’s, he might just leave Fr Philip there for a while longer. The only GCT priest that won’t be transferred if Fr. Peter because Sotirios has him there to provide intel on the GCT. Fr Apostolos will most likely stay but you never know with Sotirios since he hates the GCT and loves chaos instead of the Church.
If I hear anything more about Fr K I’ll post on the blog so you can see. He’s one of the best priests we have in Toronto.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn’t sound likely Fr. Theo is going to Sts. C&H church. The church said he’s made zero contact. And more importantly, he’s been speaking to people in America. One we already know is the Metropolis of Chicago as does Sotirios since this is not new news, but there’s 2 more (but Sotirios doesn’t know yet which ones so I won’t say). What’s very interesting about this situation is that Patriarch Bartholomew has someone with very close tries to Canada and America who provides updates, information, evidence, etc. It was that guy who informed America about Fr Theo’s bullshit transfer by Sotirios and surprisingly quite quickly after Sotirios’ email. This person is monitoring the situation for the Patriarch who’s on rocky terms with Sotirios since last summer over an audio recording.
GCT Betty Skoutakis finally hunted down Sotirios about breaking his word that Fr Theo was going to St John church. To say she’s furious with him would be the understatement of the year. Not sure what's going to happen there.
The Archdiocese main line has been ringing off the hook today with Prophet Elias faithful who are devastated that Fr Theo is being transferred especially because it’s about Sotirios settling a score with his dad. A few were even crying on the phone and others were screaming. The screaming was more because Sotirios is sending Fr Ted to their church. It's no secret last year Betty Skoutakis said no to Sotirios who tried to pawn off Fr Ted to go to St. John’s. Even crazy Merkel from St Nick’s said no to Fr Ted after she got rid of Fr Apostolos which is bizarre coming from her given Ted’s a Bishop Iakovos supporter. So why would Prophet Elias want a priest that no one else wants? No one likes leftovers.
And more importantly, why would Sotirios put an obvious B Team player in one of his biggest churches and parishes in Canada? The fact that the Archdiocese owns Prophet Elias is why. More on that tomorrow.
All in all, this has not been the best 48 hours for Sotirios.
What’s next ? Naming St. Nicholas the cathedral in Canada to stick it to the GCT?
ReplyDeletePanagia only has the title cathedral in the name of the church from the Iakovos days, it's not actually used as the church cathedral. Look at the cathedral in America, it's owned by the Archdiocese and it's where Arch Elpidophoros goes to serve on big feast days. And that's the same thing in Australia, Europe etc. The only reason he won't change is because Iakovos made him a bishop. The only reason he became a metropolitan under Patriarch Dimitrios is because Iakovos pushed for him.

You are correct Panagia is owned by the GCT and not the Archdiocese. That really irks him. It still does not change the fact that it was recognized by our church as the first Greek Orthodox cathedral in Canada on November 14,1967 soon after our Archbishop was ordained and well before he was elevated to a bishop. any archbishop can change which church is his and the archdiocese cathedral at any time. A cathedral is supposed to be the church that contains the “cathedra” Latin for “seat” of the Archbishop and the central church of the Archdiocese. Panagia is neither of those things today to the archbishop or the archdiocese, cathedral is just a name of its sign. Sotirios would have already changed it if it's wasn’t named from Iakovos. Others couldn't care less about Iakovos who have us a pedo.

And Betty would not remove the thrones from the churches, if she doesn’t want him to go to the GCT churches that she could do. The GCT board can’t sell its empty churches without a membership vote so that’s not happening.
DeleteAfter Sotirios finally spoke to Betty and that was not a pleasant phone call for Sotirios, he had the nerve to tell his little puppet Fr Peter to call Betty to ask for his pension benefits now. She said no and will not do anything above and beyond what was agreed in the settlement. Fr Peter reported back to his boss so Sotirios could gauge how hard she will hit back. Happy to see she said absolutely not. And happy she was smart enough to say absolutely not when Sotirios tried to give her Fr Ted last year instead of Theo. She knows which are the good priests and which are the dirty ones. She knows Frs Apostolos and Dimitrios are good ones from her churches.
If I was her I’d take all the car raffle tickets that each church was given and put them in an envelope and mail them back to Sotirios. Why should the GCT help a liar? Sotirios can his puppet priests to sell them.

The membership can indeed vote to sell the churches and Sotirios cannot do anything about it.( He will try and get a few morons to get an injunction like he did in Vancouver and lose again.) Unfortunately title does matter and the Archdiocese has non on the GCT properties. The membership voted in the past to change its constitution and remove any mention of the Archdiocese and the institution it will vote again to get rid of them. Betty is best advised to consider him persona non grata.

10:57--You know Sotirios needs him to confess his entire church not just half of it. What would Ted say when a family goes up to him wanting confession for each person? I can confess the husband and the boys but not the wife and daughters. They've been trying to contain this so there's not a “church scandal” as Fr Peter put it because then Sotirios would be pressured to remove him and he has no priests to replace him. When it's time for Lent and more people go to confession and Ted puts out his sign-up sheet for people to pick spots what's it supposed to say: men only? If you're female go to another church? Sotirios needs his priests to do all the sacraments for all the parishioners. Sotirios doesn't care about the safety of parishioners, if he did he himself wouldn't go near young boys, he cares about managing scandals.
DeleteSotiros is in step wirh Fr Peter about keeping Ted away from church feast days etc with all the priests because there was an incident a few years back where a woman got pissed about what Ted texted her daughter and that's when Sotirios realized this was going to cause a scandal so he’s never to go to other churches except for priest meeting stuff. Like at Metamorphosis the other week Ted was there for the priests meeting and then they all got vested and he said oh guys I'm not feeling well and took off. On Saturday night at St Nick’s his parents-in-law were there saying how much Ted wanted to come but he's not feeling well. Do they think he's been sick for 3 years now or are they afraid of this shaming their family? No idea.

My “boss”? Who's my “boss”? Then you tell us why Fr Ted hasn't been to a single church service for the feast days in the last 3 years? All the other priests have to go when Archbishop Sotirios is there but Ted hasn't been to one. So tell us why? He's been sick for 3 straight years? The only time priests have seen him the past 3 years are at meetings with priests only. That's it. Year's ago Ted would criticize the priests who didn't show up to those same feast days and he was at every single one. You tell us what happened then why all of the sudden he stopped.
DeleteIt's not in Sotirios’ interest to say anything negative about the price he handpicked to put in his largest parish in Canada. The priest that he's expecting to get him the $40K a year from since Prophet Elias parish council does not give it to him since it pays the mortgage and expenses and Sotirios gets the money from the warehouse directly and that the written agreement for many years. The priest that he's expecting to run the candle factory on the premises with no insurance since Sotirios won't pay the money to insure it and so fr Theo and the pat president terry shut it down years ago. In fact Sotirios held a meeting Tuesday night (after he announced the transfers by email) with the Archdiocese churches priests and presidents to inform them that they are to all join together to buy candles so they can get them at the lowest price and said that the candle factory doesn't need insurance. And more importantly, Fr Ted will be the only person in charge at prophet elias since Sotirios dismantled the parish council last month since he wanted to get the president Terry out and said it was an invalid election. So now terry according to the bylaws can't run again so there is an intern council that Sotirios has stacked and he will have Ted as his puppet to ensure that the next council will do what he tells them to.

As a member of Prophet Elias, many of us are waiting to find out if Fr. Theo will in fact go to St.Constantine and Helen or leave for America since that church is close to us and we will go there instead. No one and I mean no one, is happy with Fr Theo leaving or that Fr Ted is coming. His Eminence is playing games because Fr. Theo won't do unethical things like run the candle factory with no insurance or give him more money when we have an agreement with the Archdiocese. His Eminence is sending us a dirty priest to do his dirty work. Unacceptable. Anaxios!

“Evil Ted” got prophet elias. Starts Wednesday. Betty skoutakis said no to him going to St Johns (or any GCT churches). But after many years of doing every evil thing possible, he finally got a deal with Sotirios through his spiritual father who brokered it. The same spiritual father who when he found out what GCT president agreed to compensation for Fr Theo got upset and asked for it too and she said no. Fr Peter is no Fr Theo, his church is supposed to be the cathedral but it's pretty empty and financially struggling, unlike prophet elias that has the largest parish in the country. Let's see how long it will take Ted to destroy everything Theo built.

He disassembled the young council, removed president and removed the priest. Don't see how this will end with Prophet Elias continuing without a drastic decline. The people of prophet Elias are resilient but it will take a a while for them to collect the pieces that were shattered by the bishop. All the best to the community.
ReplyDelete9:02 AM. Now you can understand why the community wants to know if Fr Theo will go to at Constantine & Helen or to the States. If he stays you’ll see people leave prophet Elias and follow him. None of us want arrogant Fr Ted or his rude presvetera. They're toxic. People from his own church have given us courtesy calls of what to expect. They sound relieved he's leaving. The emails and things he sent his parish council members are appalling, and the bullying of council members to do unethical things like secretly recording executive board meetings for him is exactly that bullying. I don't want a bully as a priest, none of us do. Fr Ted's behaviour mirrors Archbishop Sotirios.
DeletePhone calls continuing today at the Archdiocese against Sotirios for transferring Fr. Theo and giving them Fr. Ted. You might as well have sent them Fr Phillipa. Just wait until the interim parish council finds out that Ted won't be showing up during the week until about 10:30-11 am and will be leaving at about 1:30- 2 pm and not coming back for the rest of the, if that. He’ll tell you he needs to drop off and pick up his kids except he doesn't. I live on Brookbanks Drive and you can see every morning which family members from both sides come and go with the kids. And then ask some of the priests they can show you text messages when he asks them to go to his shooting club with him in Aurora during the work week. It's like Sotirios who sleeps in the afternoon every day. Has tea for like an hour. Lunch for like and hour. Reads the newspapers for forever long. And then tortures whoever is around with stories about him from the 1900s. These guys wouldn't last in the corporate world for a day.
ReplyDeleteThere's a legit revolt at Prophet Elias that Fr Theo got transferred for Sotirios’ sick pleasure. Since Sotirios meddled In their elections and there's an interim board now it's chaos over there now. It's been 3 days and counting that the archdiocese has been getting angry calls for transferring Theo. Sotirios must be hating the calls because it shows how popular he is. No calls so far about Sotirios transferring Fr Ted -- that speaks volumes after being there for so long. The church is only concerned if they have a priest or not on March 1st or not, there's no contract or anything yet. Sotirios has no idea what's going on and if he’ll have to send another priest there but who??

2. Videos, photos, text messages, recordings will come out about lots of things. Ted’s had the luxury of hiding in a small church the last few years. You can’t even tell me when’s the last time he was at your church with all the other priests for feast days because he hasn’t. Prophet Elias is not the beginning for Ted it’s the end.
3. Sotirios did make a commitment to the president and 2 others that Fr Philips would be removed and they would get Fr Theo. This is old and public news so you clearly have no idea what’s going on in the church. Go ask the GCT or Fr Theo yourself.
4. The parish council at prophet Elias voted for multiple spoons according to the last spoons letter from Sotirios which gave the councils 3 options with no expiration date. Clearly you have not seen the letter he sent all parish councils and priests. BTW Sotirios is pro-multiple spoons dummy! And if you knew anything you’d know the last time he was on the patriarchal holy eparchial synod he put forward a motion to change the methodology of how we commune to multiple spoons. He lost by 1 vote. Ask him yourself maybe he’ll show you the recorded vote. You just really don’t know what’s going on. The lawsuit between Fr Paul Drakos (Fr Theo’s dad) and Sotirios started because of what Sotirios did to him when he was the priest at Sts Constantine and Helen. And Sotirios knows from our patriarch that he needs to get his things in order over the next year before he’s replaced but the lawsuit is still going on and Sotirios is using this as a pressure tactic in hopes his father drops the lawsuit. Sotirios is smart and as asshole. It’s not the first time Sotirios has used a family member to get to another family member just go as Fr Elias and Odi Drossos. Fr Elias was hit by Sotirios because at the time he couldn’t hit Odi and ended up on unemployment for 2 years because of it. Ask them yourself! That widely known of what happened there.
And the Archdiocese never announce transfers. Find me on their website the transfers of Fr Apostolos. Fr Spiros, Fr Evangelos, any of them and post the link on this blog. It doesn’t exist. The Archdiocese never announces not even on their Facebook account transfers. Look for yourself. Do you even go to church? Do you have a parish? Are you involved in your church? Do you even know where the Archdiocese is? You don’t seem to know anything at all about what’s going on. Not even basic things.

And there are a number of priests that have said no over the years to Sotirios hitting on them and there has NEVER been a priest across Canada who has been banned for over 3 years now from going to public church services/events but can go to the ones where it’s only men. All you’re doing is covering up for another dirty priest in the church.

His H.O.P.E. program is all young parishoners who went out even in the snow to give food to the poor, to check on elders, they even gave care packages to the seniors in their community, they did more food and clothing, and basic needs for babies drives during the pandemic than all of the churches in Toronto combined. As for Fr Theo going to the States, he can at any time. That's why he hasn't told Sts C&H if he's going or not and you can ask the Parish Council President Freida yourself! But the Canadian priest who was blocked during the pandemic when priests were trying to get into America was Fr Ted, he was eligible because he has a masters but the Archdiocese would not and will not accept him as long as Elpidophoros is Archbishop. Tell Ted to reapply and he can let you know when Elpidophoros sends Sotirios the letter to accept him and see for youself. His spiritual father Peter called 2 hierarchs in America about Ted back then. You should ask Fr Peter what he told each of them. The Archdiocese has it documented.

No order, no structure, people talking loudly all the time even at the most sensitive times like during the gospel and communion. The dance program has been held completely separate from the church and has been thriving for 20+ years.
The youth program, which is the only organization Fr Theo has any care for, is a joke. It is not religiously affiliated, it’s a place for youth to hang out, not do anything productive for the church or Greek community. The only reason this group is large and active is because Fr Theo posts their activities on his FB and parents feel comfortable with their kids hanging out in a “church” environment. When Fr Peter was the priest, the youth group was focussed on meaningful conversations and serving the community.
Fr Theo has been threatening to leave Prophet Elias for years, doesn’t care now and he never has. His goal at the church was fame and recognition that HIS followers give him, not for the church or community.
From the faithful parishioners at Prophet Elias who were there before Fr Theo and will continue to support their CHURCH not the person standing at the front of it, after he leaves, please stop with the empty threats, and just leave.
4:07 Archbishop told Mrs Skoutakis he would give her Fr Theo last year. Archbishop told Fr Theo he was going to transfer him to St John’s last year. We knew this at Prophet Elias, Fr Theo was transparent with us. Fr Theo wanted to stay at Prophet Elias but the Archbishop told him he’s transferring him, this transfer game has been going on for well over a year. At first he had Bishop Iakovos trying to get him to go to Montreal and he said no, we know about that too. And then Fr Theo was going to go to America and that’s when Sotirios said well then you can stay at Prophet Elias so he stayed. We know about that back and forth. You don’t know our church and you don’t know what’s been going on. As a parishioner I know first hand what Fr Theo has done for our community and it’s nothing comparable to what I’ve seen in any other church which barely have people who show up to church on a Sunday and don’t even hold Bible Study classes, or youth and young adult nights like we had last night and it was packed. As a former board member (interim council is put in now because of the Archbishop who is playing games) I’ve spoken with board members from Sts C&H and they explained serious concerns they had with Fr Ted from bullying the board, to sending them inappropriate aggressive emails, to insulting the board members, to put it politely. We know the church doesn’t have anything except a small Sunday school. We also know that Fr Ted is not allowed to be alone with women unless it’s for confession which is alarming for us. The board there is not sad he’s leaving at all. And we don’t want Fr Ted to come and bully us and he’s already started even though he doesn’t start work until Wednesday! He’s started doing the Archbishop’s bidding and told some of us that we are to give Sotirios $40K a year despite the agreement we already have with the Archdiocese in writing. We pay the mortgage, expenses, run it and the Archdiocese gets all the rent money from the warehouse directly. It was made clear to Fr Ted that Sotirios will never get $40K a year unless he wants to amend the agreement which we know he won’t because he takes all the money from the warehouse directly which is a lot of money each month in rent. You can say what you want about our priest but you weren’t here last night when we many of us were for our event and there were even tears. You have no idea how many of us have called the Archdiocese to express out concerns about Fr Theo leaving and Fr Ted coming. And we know the option of America for Fr Theo is real because there are families in our community here who are related to a long stand NYC priest who is related with Archbishop Elpidohoros and he was even here last year. We know the Archdiocese wants to take him. We know there’s currently 2 vacant spots at the Archdiocese and we know Fr Theo is one of of the few priests in Canada who went to that Archdioceses school HCHC where he did his Masters. So enough with slandering our priest when we are mourning our loss.

The head of the church is the priest and what happens doesn’t happen despite the priest but because of the priest. And the Ontario division of Camp Metamorphosis has the largest camp across the country even though His Eminence secretly sold the property during the pandemic, and it’s our priest who worked hard with the board to ensure our kids could have camp last summer. So enough. You’ll only see how blessed we were with Fr Theo when Fr Ted comes, ask him about his programming at his church, there’s absolutely nothing except a small Sunday school, he acted like he was a part-time priest there making $85K. And the only person who is to blame for this transfer is His Eminence. And we all know he’s told Fr Theo if he doesn’t give him the $40K he will be transferred. If he doesn’t run the candle factory without insurance he will be transferred. You have no idea how many times Fr Theo has been threatened by His Eminence, and he’s not the only priest either. So maybe try saying thank you tomorrow instead for our priest’s last Divine Liturgy tomorrow. For many of us this is heartbreaking for our families and children.

Incase you need some help reading, I did not say in my original comment, nor am I saying now that Fr Theo and the council have not done good work while they have been at our church. What I did say was, Fr Theo DID NOT build this community. He did not start the renovations, or fundraising, he did not start the youth programs, nor Sunday school. He came into a very strong church and very strong community.
Most of our council members were there before Fr Theo and all his friends came. They held an obviously fraudulent election 6 years ago, where people who had never been to our church before suddenly had memberships, and were able to run for council. THATS how this shit show started.
Unfortunately, it is people like you who put this responsibility on the priests in our community when the responsibility is our own. It’s OUR job to make sure our churches are running smoothly, that we are donating, that our programs are being run.
Ft Theo served the biggest Greek community in Canada for 8 years, he would tell anyone who listened how much work this really took. House blessings took MONTHS his first year with us, and he didn’t even make it to everyone. He had hospital visits, funerals, weddings, baptisms, and our community continued to grow from there. There is no way he could have run the community like you say he did, even if he wanted too.
Fr Theo had SUPPORT on all ends. And that’s how it should be.
It looks like you need to reread my original comment. My issue is not with Fr Theo, nor that I am bitter about Fr Peter. My issue is with people like you who worship this man as if he is God. A priests role is to be a spiritual father, not to be the head of a council, nor to run a community. That’s what a council is for.
So, with that, I DO see how blessed I am to have my CHURCH to always fall back on. I wished Fr Theo well yesterday and will continue to pray for him.
Fr Peter took 1 talent and made it 3. Fr Theo took 3 talents and made it 6. They both tried to keep Christ at the center of the community, and both experienced growth in different ways during their time here. Both understood that it was all about the community working as a whole and everyone participating in one way or another for the purpose of the Church. It was never about them and always about getting people involved and growing in the Church. Neither was perfect but they always tried to build for the betterment of the community here in Prophet Elias.

And some people downplayed and just said he’s going through a hard time financially even though he makes $85K ++ a year. And then he designed this page which he titled: “A TIMELINE OF MANIPULATION The Art of Taking Advantage of your Priest” I still have it and if someone tells me how to email it to Andipothas to post I will because it’s next level crazy from both a professional standpoint, a Christian one and a mental health perspective. And he sent it to the Parish Council Board and a bunch of people in his old Re-Catechism class. And then he sent out an email intervening in the elections that year and running his own slate so he could control the council. A priest holds the position as ex-officio on the parish council and is now even permitted to intervene but he did it anyway because the rules don’t apply to Fr Ted, just like Sotirios. If any parish council election should be declared null and void it’s that one. He used to hang out with all the re-catechism people (before he had to close the program because of things you can read on this blog which I’d rather not repeat) and he told a few of us once at Starbucks how he has set up secret cameras in the church and how he has someone recording the executive meetings for him (ex-officios are not part of the executive) and other really paranoid stuff. He asked some sexually inappropriate questions to my friends daughter during confession and she never went back. None of us went to his again for confession or counsel because he’s clearly unwell. While I know he’s done unethical and even illegal things (which I’m not going to repeat here) I think we all need to pray for him. I spoke with the Archdiocese and all they said is that the His Eminence is already aware of what’s going on and will deal with it. But nothing ever happened. He’s not well and the Church needs to offer help despite what he’s done. If we don’t do this how can we call ourselves Christians?

She was I believe at the time a senior in high school (so above 16) and he asked her pointed questions like do you masturbate? How often? Do you use toys? (meaning like dildos/vibrators) Do you enjoy it? Has any watched you while doing it? She found the questions intrusive to say the least but again she was new to confession. But when she went to a priest-monk she had a completely different experience and so she asked him about the pointed questions and he told her that’s inappropriate what Fr Ted did to you and suggested she tell her parents.

I’d probably leave for my peace of mind and wait it out until Arch Sotirios retires and deal with it then. We’ll see what happens. I’m surprised she still has stayed in this Archdiocese and not gone to another jurisdiction. May God guide her and protect her. And the rest of the women.
10:49 I’m sorry but when a priest is abusing a sacrament like confession to hit on women or act like a pervert and ask girls if they masturbate and much worse Fr Ted should be removed. It’s a sacrament. Period. Yes the church is a Christian one but it also has a responsibility to protect its flock from the wolves. If Fr Ted wants to get help (which I doubt given how many years this stuff’s been going on for) he can do so on his dime on his time, not the churches. He should be removed with Archbishop Sotirios and Bishop Iakovos and whoever else is hurting the faithful. Period.

DeleteOne of my friends who’s a priest told me Sotirios hit on him a few times. I didn’t ask him for proof. I believed him. In the same way, I believe the women, some of whom I personally know, to who Fr Ted has done unethical and immoral things to. I believed them before they even showed me anything.
So this isn’t about you. The same way it’s not about me. My job is to be there for them. The rest is up to God and the leadership of the Church, and yes the latter has done nothing here because they're part of the problem but it doesn’t mean it will always be like that. Just look at America, Archbishop Elpidophros has defrocked a handful of priests but they don’t announce what the priests did or release evidence, they’re not permitted to because it’s an HR matter which like everywhere else is internal, but you see they are removed from the central priests lists and of course the local communities know he’s had his title of priest removed. And from my understanding, Elpidophoros is dealing with issues that predate him as Archbishop. These things take time but they eventually happen in some.instances and God-willing one day they will happen in Canada too. At the end of the day the ultimate Judge will be God and those guys will have to explain it to Him, not to us.

We’re talking about enough people where a priest is banned from services outside of his own church for over 3 years now and counting. We’re not in Kansas anymore. And no one can say he’s been at their church over the past 3 years when there are major feast days/public events etc. not even for the Archbishop’s nameday which he forces all clergy to go to try to make people believe his priests like him. As for not being alone with women except for confession, all you have to do is try it and see for yourself. Fr Ted used to be out all the time with parishioners and would meet females alone at coffee shops, or out for meals, or or or and then one day it all just stopped and he disappeared and then shut down all programming at his church he except for Sunday school that’s not run by him. The problem with Fr Ted isn’t just about women either and in the eyes of the church it’s not the biggest of his problems when it comes to the canons. Sotirios doesn’t give a shit about protecting the faithful he just cares about money. And now he has his guy Fr Ted to go in and get him all of the money Fr Theo and Terry wouldn’t. It's also reminds me or some of the bigger Greek orthodox churches in America which are run like machines. There’s not a church in Canada like it. It's a waste to send Fr Theo to a small church that can't physically grow because if he decides to go there there will be standing room only. It would have made more sense to send him to St Panteleimon which is in desperate need of leadership to finish the church and start creating all the things prophet elias has. But revenge trumps church need in Sotirios’ twisted mind. Let’s see how quickly Ted and Sotirios destroy it with their games.

Instead of appreciating what Farher Theo and the Board did under Terry, they instead lied, sent secret letters to the Bishop, cheated and got the priest transferred and Terry “kicked” off with some notion of a fixed election because he had stayed more than governed terms? Reallly? How many presidents have stayed on for years as you measure success by the Leadership. 15 nominees, 15 votes in. But why is our Greek Community all losers? Instead of sticking together, instead of working to better our communities across all churches, we battle each other, we try to undermind each other, we state false rumours about people. DeleteWhat I admire about the previous council at Prophet Elias with President Terry and Fr Theo is they never let Archbishop Sotirios get his way on unethical things. They wouldn’t run the candle factory without insurance. They wouldn’t break the written deal with the community and the Archdiocese about payment and would therefore not give the Archbishop $40K more a year. They would not let the Treasurer who is an ally of the Archbishop create separate accounts or count the money by himself in a room, they went as far to install cameras because they knew the Treasurer was counting the money in secret. That’s integrity despite the pressure. How many time has the Archbishop told Fr Theo if he doesn’t do X he will be transferred and he would say I’m not playing your games. I don’t know of another priest who will go toe to toe to Sotirios recognizing the consequences. So for whoever this person is who is trying to say anything about our church and our priest, I bet your priest and president don’t hold a candle to them.
And now we will be getting a priest who has already been pushing the Archbishop’s agenda on us and he’s not even our priest yet. For someone that has told us he will only work from about 10-2 with lunch time of course during the week, he sure has a lot of nerve do the Archbishop’s bidding. ANAXIOS!

DeleteAnd yes Sotirios dismantled the parish council at Prophet Elias and won’t approve the council for St Panteleimon who are in the middle of renovations too.
It’s all games to Sotirios with the end game of getting as much money out of the churches as he can. He’s not a spiritual leader. He’s not even a leader. He just wants to get as much money as he can this year out of those two big churches like he does for St Nick’s.
Sotirios was planning this transfer since at least last month. He sent a letter to the board where Terry was President to tell them the election was invalid.15 people ran for 15 spots. He put in an interim board and tried to put as many of his people on it. Sotirios knows very well that had he transferred Fr Theo on Tuesday with an actual board they would have resigned on mass. Like what happened to the board at Agia Triada when Sotirios lied to them and removed Fr Evangelos only after months when the commitment was until he competes his studies, so 2 years. They all signed a joint resignation letter to Sotirios and told him to shove it.
Now Prophet Elias only has one permanent person in their position, the priest. This makes it much easier for Fr Ted to get Sotirios the annual $40K he’s been unethically trying to get for years despite the written agreement that they pay for the mortgage, expenses, etc and Sotirios gets all the rent money directly from the warehouse on their property. Fr Theo has already started despite his starting day being March 1st. Prophet Elias don’t let perve Ted or pedo Sotirios get away with anything.
It was a tough day today at Prophet Elias. It was jam packed like it was Palm Sunday. Lots of tears that Fr. Theo is leaving us. Fr. got a standing ovation which I doubt Sotirios will get when he leaves. I suspect there will be street parties and smashing of plates when Sotirios finally leaves. It’s still unclear to us if Fr Theo is going next door to Sts Constantine and Helen or across the border, so some of us are waiting patiently to know if we go there on Sunday or not. I’ve never seen an Archbishop play so many games I don’t understand how Sotirios is the spiritual leader of Canada.

He wants to get back at Father Theo for his dads lawsuit and President Terry for not kissing his ass and giving him hard fundraised money for the new church hall. He has been asking for $40,000 plus a fraudulent insurance slip for his for profit candle factory. It feels like the Bishop is playing a dangerous game. Games that may lead to Human Rights, games that devalue his priests where they have no democratic say in anything and games from some Prophet Elias losers who may be facing defamation soon so I would shut you mouths. The entire previous Board under Terry (except for one RAT) has made this church successful, Father THEO’s kindness, authenticity and love for his youth has made all programming successful no doubt with many great VOLUNTEERS. ReplyDeleteI knew Arch Sotirios wanted the candle factory to be run without insurance (because Sotirios said the insurance is too high and he won’t pay that) which Terry and Fr Theo said absolutely not — for good reason. But I didn’t know Arch wanted a fraudulent insurance slip so he could have the candle factory run. He’s next level insane. Arch had an in-person meeting on Tuesday night wit the priests and presidents only from churches owned by the Archdiocese. He told them they have to all join together to buy candles and that the candle factory can be run without insurance, which means this is one of the things he’s tasked Fr Ted with who won’t have a problem doing something unethical. And now with an interim board with a bunch of the Arch’s people this might actually happen.

Unfortunately Sotirios only cares about getting even. He doesn’t care what his parishes think. As for the candle factory a quick call to the city can make sure that operation ceases without proper fire protection. That is called getting even. DeleteBest part is that Prophet Elias had a great team with their council president TERRY and Ft Theo along with several others who worked tirelessly to better that church and community. Countless late nights spent organizing fundraising and building a better church for tommorrows youth. The old people who think they run things now have to realize that being old doesn’t give them the right to run things the way they were in the 60’s and 70’s. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that there were rats in the council who secretly conspired to remove Ft Theo and unseat terry as president, by writing letters with false unsubstantiated claims to the Archbishop to have this happen so they can run it their way.

DeleteI have seen first hand Terry (president) and his council hustle to assemble a Mississauga citywide event. Father Theo was unboxing, the youth was setting up tables, the old ladies were setting up their stations (and they were almost a century old). Watching this group assemble this event was baffling because my community couldn’t even pull off Sunday coffee. Not sure how the other events are during setup, but their festival is remarkable. Professional and organized. Then I read some negative comments about Prophet Elias and I cant think to myself, why would all these people run like this if they had no trust or love for this community. I spoke to Terry and Father Drakos at during a pizza break for the volunteers and let me tell you that the synergy between them and the other volunteers was remarkable. What I don’t get are the negative comments I read from the few parishioners of Prophet Elias bashing the community or even bringing the past up?! Clearly the council and president were doing something right because the church was always busy when I came to visit family in Mississauga or to go to a memorial. The archbishop is a narcissist, I am sure everyone on this page can agree. The reason he removed Terry and Fr. Theo is because he is probably jealous of their success. I truly hope the comments made about fr. Ted are wrong and that Terry gets back on the board. I am sure Prophet Elias will be left with no choice but to give the 40k and find a solution to sell candles. Good luck to them, and hopefully this council can keep the growing momentum alive!!
ReplyDeleteI understand how immigrants can pour their love into a new community to bring a piece of home to a new country, but no second generation in Canada loves their community more than the people at Prophet Elias. It starts with their clergy who have served with faith over the years and they have always had many first class board members. Terry is a shining example of what a president should be in a community.

1:41 AM. 100% AGREE! You said it best the church on Sunday at prophet elias was full like it was Palm Sunday to say goodbye to Fr Theo and there were lots of tears even from the kids. You couldn't have said it better that the community of Prophet Elias loved Fr Theo because he showed them love and was by their side.

Are there other priests who would get a standing ovation like Fr Theo did on Sunday? Maybe? Someone that comes to mind is Fr Konstantinos from St D’s who shows so much love and support and will also be transferred soon enough as part of Sotirios’ “year of transfers” vindictive roadshow before he himself is asked to retire.

ReplyDeleteWell, you can say the same thing about the church in Barrie then or Markham. But the attendance is not even half of Prophet Elias. And when you look at the quality of events like the Markham Greek festival (which didn't even happen last summer!) and Prophet Elias there's a visible difference in quality and attendance. The previous young board at Prophet Elias with Fr Theo and Terry focused on youth and young adults. And it showed. They have youth nights, Bible study classes, fr. Theo did Ontario camp despite Sotirios selling our camp property and announcing last year that it was going to be Fr Ted and Fr Apostolos who were going to run Ontario camp (it's published in the Archdiocese information calendar from last January) but when they didn't do anything Fr Theo stepped in and did it. Not for Sotirios but for the youth.
DeleteAnd while yes in Toronto people have more churches to pick from, you can't ignore the fact that none of the Toronto churches have rebounded to their pre-pandemic attendance but Prophet Elias did almost immediately. And yes of course the Archbishop has played a key role in why so many people left the church during the pandemic and have not come back despite how much some parishes have tried. But let's not pretend Fr Theo isn't one of the most inclusive, hard-working, and effective priests we have in Canada and he's easily the most popular for a reason and it's not because he's an asshole, it's because he’s not a fanatic and not judgmental and doesn't make people who are struggling feel like lepers in his church. Is he perfect? No and he is the first one to say it, just watch his goodbye speech on Sunday on Prphet Elias Facebook, he got a standing ovation for a reason. No one is perfect, only Christ is. He's one of the very few priests in Canada with a Masters Degree, and one of the very few that has gone head-to-head with Sotirios for many year's despite the consequences for him. And now Fr Ted who is Sotirios’ guy is coming in, and he's there to serve Sotirios before the community. Just like what's happened at St Nick’s. And what Sotirios has been trying to do in Markham but still unsuccessfully because they're at a standstill. Fr Ted has already spoken to key people at prophet elias about giving the Archdiocese the $40K even though his start date is March 1st. Why is a new priest who hasn't even started work talking about giving Sotirios the money the community has fight over for many years? That right there is a red flag and indicates that Fr Ted is Sotirios’ person. Just like Tasia is Sotirios person. It's much easy for Sotirios to get his way when he puts unethical people in positions of power he can control when others won’t bend to his demands. It's classic Sotirios.
Just to be clear, I have never said anything bad about Fr. Théo. I do not personally know him nor have I ever met him. Many years ago I attended the summer festival at Prophet Elias and I did appreciate the fact that there was NO entrance fee whereas all other Greek festivals always charged an entrance fee, but what I was trying to say Is that yes Greeks living in Toronto do have many more churches to choose from thus the low numbers of attendees. The fact that the churches in Toronto have not rebounded since COVID is not because of Sotirios. He has served out his two terms and the Archbishop will not give the blessing to extend that like he has for others like Tasia from St. Nicholas church. Sotirios uses the regulations to his benefit, it's not one rule for all. The similar thing is happening in Markham. What Terry could do if he wanted is run for Vice-President.
ReplyDeleteThe only legal solution to make candles on the premises is with a real insurance policy. So even if Fr Ted tries to do what Sotirios tells him, a call to your local Councillor’s office will trigger an investigation. If you want to stick it to Sotirios I would write an email to the Mayor’s office as well.
As for the $40K the people of prophet elias will fight Sotirios and Fr Ted out of principle now for what Sotirios has done to the previous board and the church. This is also something that can't be done unilaterally despite what Sotirios has told fr Ted to do. Fr Ted has already spoken to key people at prophet elias about giving the Archdiocese the $40K even though his start date is March 1st. That right there is a red flag and indicates that Fr Ted is Sotirios’ person. He hasn’t even started and the first thing he talked about last week is giving the $40,000 for the Archdiocese. It’s all about money with him and Sotirios. So much for spirituality.
While many don't like the Archbishop and for valid reasons, I don't think after 8 years he got jealous of Fr Theo and Terry. Sotirios wants more money and for the candle factory to run illegally so he can make money from that and force all the churches owned by the archdiocese to purchase candles from there (he already had a meeting about this last Tuesday night, hours after the transfer of Fr Theo) and Fr Theo and Terry were the main barriers to it. Also, Sotirios sent Fr Theo to the church (Sts Constantine and Helen) where his father last served as the priest there and since then Fr Paul’s has been in a legal battle with Sotirios and for good reason.
As for the several comments about Fr Ted, it is correct that he has been prohibited to attend church events/services outside of his own parish (even if the Archbishop is there himself) and that he is not permitted to be alone with women of any age except for the purposes of confession. There is no other priest in Canada who has such strict rules imposed and it's been for over 3 years now and counting. As for what evidence there is, that is not something you will find on a blog. Dealing with Fr Ted will fall on the incoming Archbishop to determine what to do to protect the flock. No person with a conscious could read his file/evidence and do nothing except a degenerate like Sotirios that is. Also know that whatever anyone tells Fr Ted or does will be reported directly to Archbishop Sotirios. Sotirios wants more money from Prophet Elias and he will not stop until he gets it through Fr Ted who he can easily control given his HR file. Sadly this won’t end well.

Maybe we should do the Christian thing and give him an opportunity to get settled and start serving the Church in Mississauga. If you close a door, no one can get in. If you open the door and welcome someone, generally they respond in kind.

DeleteBeing Christian is also about protecting the Church. We forget that Jesus flipped tables in the Temple. Unethical Sotirios put in his unethical priest to take more money from the faithful of Prophet Elias. Anyone that knows what's happened the last few years knows that this is about getting more money to the Archdiocese. If you want to open the cupboards and give them everything, go ahead. But don't say you weren't warned. And don't be surprised when anything you say goes straight back to Sotirios. Being Christian doesn't mean having no boundaries. Being Christian doesn't mean letting the priest and archbishop take all your money despite written agreements. Being Christian doesn't mean bending over to unethical clergy/hierarchy. And you can do that without yelling or swearing at them. It's not black and white. You can be firm and kind. And can be respectful and set clear boundaries. It doesn't mean you leave Fr Ted with your young daughters just because you want to be a good Christian. That's a distorted understanding of Christianity and it's why abuse continues starting at the hands of Archbishop Sotirios.
Saints didn't bend over and and let people do and say whatever they wanted in the church. They spoke up. Not in an asshole way but they did. There are Saints who slapped people and others who spoke out against the hierarchy/clergy. It's about doing the next right thing for Christ, His Church and his people.

Just ask President of GCT Skoutakis who was the absolute nicest and got played by Sotirios and never got Fr Theo for St John’s. I didn't say to let wolves run crazy. Boards are there to work with the Priest at the local level for the needs of the Community. They act as weight and counter weight.

That being said, he has been assigned to Mississauga. If these things are true, it's on the bishop. If they happen in Mississauga, the board will not tolerate it. The board will also look out for the best interests of the community. We all have to to answer to God at some point. It includes bishops, priests, boards, members and everyone else.
If these things aren't true, just give the man an opportunity to get settled in and serve the community.
You can try to be a good Christian and still be vigilant. Especially so, when you don't have all the facts.

DeleteAs for how powerful do you think a board can be? if Mr Andipothas can tell me how to email him things I will send him emails from Fr Ted to his former board at Sts Constantine & Helen and even a design he created and sent the board and parishioners titled: “A TIMELINE OF MANIPULATION The Art of Taking Advantage of your Priest” He also ran a slate for his board through email and sent it to certain parishioners and board members. He intervened in his churches election. That's not permitted as a person with the position as Ex-Officio and it's obviously highly unethical. The Archdiocese has all these documents. It could have been what gave Sotirios the idea to put him at Prophet Elias since he needs a priest who will stack the board so he gets more money. Fr Ted did it before, what's to stop him from doing it to the new elections that need to be run?
And there's emails where he is demanding a raise and saying things that have turned out to be untrue. Some Prophet Elias people know now since they have to negotiate his contract that Fr Ted was making $85K as his base salary at Sts Constantine and Helen. How many priests in Toronto make $85K and for a small church with zero programming?? He bullied board members on a number of occasions. That's his MO.
But hey what could possibly go wrong at Prophet Elias when the puppet master Archbishop Sotirios has his puppet Fr Ted (that he can easily control because of his past behaviour) as the new priest?!
One day you will come to learn that those 2 statements in that quote are true.

First-priest will be Fr Konstantinos from St Ds because Sotirios is still upset he donated $500 to the GCT when they said they might have to see a church. It sounds like he’s going to out one of his old guys at St D’s since it's a gold mine of tips there, he's thinking his partner in crime Fr Phillip from St John’s.

Delete1:20: It’s sadly 100% true we had zero programming under Fr Ted at Sts Constantine and Helen. Even out Sunday School was cancelled last year by Fr Ted and our classrooms left empty. He got paid $85K of our money we give to our church for what exactly?! He showed up around maybe 10 on a good day and was gone by 2 pm the latest. Who wouldn’t love that much money to work a handful of hours a day?? Hopefully Fr Theo will at least have our Sunday school classes in use again. His office was a an expensive kids store with star wars and Star Trek models all over but he would bully our board for more pay saying he needed more money or his kids wouldn’t have food to eat. Give me a break when he spent all his time going to jiu-jitsu with his kids. If you don't have money for food how do you have money memberships for all of you to a gym? Such an unethical priest. He did this on the upstairs floor where the Sunday school classrooms are which have been out of use since Fr Ted cancelled Sunday school. So, he got paid $85,000 a year to work part-time during the day where he was often found in his fighting room? If he wants to practice fighting why doesn’t he go to his jiu-jitsu gym in east york near his apartment? Why is one of the highest paid priests in Canada spending his days fighting in church and making podcasts about jiu-jitsu called…wait for it…The Fighting Priests, out of his church office? You can see photos online of him using the church office during the day to do this. And you can see on his Instagram (it’s private) the church room he converted into a fighting room.

And when I say huge loss, I mean it literally. Fr Ted has already cancelled the children’s sermons. Fr Ted has already cancelled the regular weekly Bible study classes (Luminations) at Prophet Elias. What priest goes into the largest parish in Canada and starts by canceling programming? I’ve never met a lazier priest and that’s really saying something for Canada or a lazier Presvytera and that’s definitely saying something in Canada. I’ll be shocked if Fr Ted lasts a year there. And he gets paid $85,000 plus for close to nothing.
