Sotirios is a very sneaky person and he is enjoy gossiping about his priests. He knows very well when will start talking and to whom will talk against his priests
Priests also, may not accuse each other but some of them have a big idea about themselves. People have mentioned before ,Fr.Ted for his attitude , Fr. Trantafylos for been rude , and the guy from the Academy who worked at the Greek Community of Toronto and now is a priest in British Columbia.
So, there are problems within the priests as well. Why this tragedy ? .
Today many assume that spiritual maturity is measured by the amount of theological studies people know..
The Christian life is far more than creeds and convictions; it includes conduct and character . If we want to lose our faith, we should try to avoid to become friends of a priest or a Bishop
Agreed about most priests and bishops. Thankfully many Gerontes don’t act or speak like academics. They speak simply and humbly and from the heart. That’s why so many of our saints were monks/nuns. Most bishops and priest-monks today are fake monks with no ascetic training. Some haven’t even stayed a night in a monastery like the priest from Markham and Fr Spiros who was transferred from st Nick’s to Montreal. How are men being made monks at female monasteries and have no men’s monastery they’re connected to? Sotirios is such an embarrassment. I know some Gerontes are too conservative but someone like Fr Christodoulos Papadeas is progressive. I was at St Nick’s once to see him and it was jam packed and it was only

Agreed. Fr. Christodoulos is one of the rare good ones. Anyone know why Sotirios hasn't brought him back? The pandemic is over already. I know the Ephraimites go to the Russian Church and fly in Papa Ephraim but if rather go to Fr Christodoulos so I don't have to.go.to.the Russians

Antipoda do us all a favor and stop making Sotirios happy. For him any mention , good or bad, is good press. We all know that very few of his priests have the moral fiber to be called a Greek Orthodox Priest.

DeleteThe more I read the less surprised I am. To generalize about everybody at the Archdiocese is not ok. Everywhere you go you get some bad apples. Some more prominent than others. It is the job of the leader to LEAD by example but then again I am not holding my breath.

Sure but it's a lot of bad apples in Canada. And Sotirios just sees the church as a business and who even knows where the money is going.
DeleteThe only problem here in canada is that the church has become man-centric. the church is supposed to be always christ-centric. when you deviate from this, then you will always have problems. like the ones you all write about.

DeletePriests cannot deceive the people by pretending to possess virtues which they do not practice, or are warm human beings, when in fact they are cold-hearted and indifferent.
I don't think priests are caring about each other. Their gossiping is enormous. As a member of a Church committee I don't think that some priests have spiritual maturity .
DeleteIt is not nice to mentioned names but they are a few priests with a lot of attitude . .They often hide their ambition, or ego behind pious words or appearances.
