Fr Theo has a Masters of Theology. When Fr Fanourios came to Canada he told the Archbishop he had a PhD of Theology and applied to the University of Toronto to become a professor and the university discovered he didn’t even have a Masters degree, and of course didn’t hire him.
No idea
what he has, if any. Fr Evangelos is still in school at the Academy just like
the priest in Kingston. The one in Markham barely got his undergraduate degree
at the Academy. Fr Apostolos has a Bachelors. But there’s something going on
with him though because Sotirios told him to teach Byzantine music at the
Academy (his area of knowledge) but you can’t teach in Ontario unless you have
a Masters Degree so Salmas is listed as the Byzantine music teacher at the
Academy even though he’s not. And Bishop Iakovos has a Masters and teaches at
the Academy but didn’t follow Ontario guidelines for class work and couldn’t be
bothered to hold an exam for the students but I don’t think anyone found out
about it. It’s been a while so I can’t remember how they covered that up.
Archbishop Sotirios has a Masters. Bishop Athengaoras has a Masters. Fr Peter’s
has a doctorate (not sure if it’s technically a PhD though because I can’t
remember where he did it at. And of course has a Masters then.) Fr Spiros who
was transferred to Quebec has degrees but none in Theology and apparently
refused to go to the Academy. Fr Chris at the monastery has financial degrees
but from my understanding none in Theology. (He’s only parti-time since he has
a day job and is also a volunteer priest since he will not accept money from
the church) Fr Ted has a Masters but there’s some sort of scandal around the
person from Winnipeg who is still paying for his degrees (still doing another
degree) and in exchange for what. Fr Ted has paid for zero of his education and
still has a sugar daddy in Winnipeg. Fr Thomas went to the academy so
undergraduate.I think I’m missing someone else from the Academy? I believe Fr
Triandaphilos has at least an undergraduate. In America every single priest
must have completed a Masters degree before Ordination to the priesthood (or is
almost finished their degree so like in the final semester they might make
someone a priest if needed). I suspect when Canada was broken off from America
Sotirios could do whatever he wanted to, but don’t know for sure maybe someone
else might? The Ecumenical Patriarchate has a policy for Bishops that they must
have a Masters degree (something to do with theology) to be considered. That’s
all I got for today.

Damn good summary. Ya heard about what Bish Iakovos did at PTOTA, or more accurately didn't do. What I dont get is if the students didn't complete the course requirements because bish Iakovos didn't bother to test them how were the students given a final mark? Was it just based off of work done to date? This is what happens when the archbishop let's anyone “teach”

ReplyDelete9:27 pm. Someone asked what academic expertise the priests have and that was one of the responses so far. The easy thing would be for the priests themselves to provide a biography on their church websites and on the archdiocese website, that would have avoided these questions. Take it up with your Archdiocese.

12:37pm that money was a donation from an estate to the best of my knowledge these funds were used to build the failed HCC on Ellesmere. Maybe you should ask the treasurer at that time what happened to those funds. If you have proof of money going towards a “villa” I will personally assist in getting those people charged. I still don’t understand how certain funeral homes charge $300 for the priest either. Who made that deal? I find it disturbing and they don’t even tell you about it so some people double pay the priest. Way to get people during grief. We all know what happened to the priest-monk who did come forward to say that Sotirios was a pedophile and so was he. He was found dead in the woods shortly after. Prime suspect was Sotirios. Not enough evidence to convict.
So don’t talk to me about evidence when not a single person in the church will protect our priests. A Human Resource Department doesn’t exist anywhere in the Greek Orthodox Church of Canada. Who’s going to protect their job and family? Are you going to? Because if you will, do I got a list of priests for you.

ReplyDeleteΘα ηθελα να παρατηρήσω ότι οι αναφορές σας σε μερικά απο τα διπλώματα και τα πτυχία κάποιων ιερέων είναι παρερμηνευμένες. Επίσης κάθε κράτος έχει τους δικούς του όρους σε συνεργασία με τα Πανεπιστήμια και τις σχολές που έχει. Είναι κάπως περίπλοκο το θέμα των πτυχίων

And if you're referring to Fr Fanourios, the Universiry of Toronto indicated he had neither a PhD or a Masters (a master’s is required to be able to teach at that level) and I'm not even sure he has an undergraduate. There is no issues with the governments. The issue is not being able to actually show proof of a degree when asked. So let's stop the bullshit. Fanourios also told Sotirios that he had an offikion when he came but Sotirios later found out he lied about that too. Notice a pattern??? He’s just like his buddies Merkel and Iakovos who couldn't tell the truth if they tried.

DeleteThere are people from Greece with actual real degrees who teach here in Canada. Sotirios has a masters, Salmas has a masters both from Thessaloniki U and they teach at the seminary. But if Fanourios had one, like he said he did, why isn’t he a professor at the Academy? Every priest in Toronto/GTA who has a Masters is required to teach at the seminary. Where’s Fr Fanourios? Why isn’t he teaching? Because he needs an actual Masters degree.

Fr. Fanourios Pappas' facebook page shows still shows studied PHD in theology Liturgical studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I studied PHD in calling out all these idiots who have no shame or any semblance of decency.

4:50 so why isn’t Fr Fanourios teaching at the Archdiocese Academy if he has a PhD? The other priests in Ontario who have Master degrees are forced to teach for free! Some of them have tried to get out of teaching with no luck. But Fanourios apparently has a PhD which none of the priests who teach at the Academy have, they have all completed their Masters degrees only. And yet Fanourios isn’t teaching with a supposed PhD? Ya sure. Sotirios has said it himself that Fanourios doesn’t have even a Masters degree to teach at the Academy, let alone a PhD. He found out when UofT found out when he told them he had a PhD and wanted to teach. How did he not realize they would actually check his credentials? This isn’t the horio. Send him back to Greece. We don’t need priests like that.
