For those who missed Vespers tonight at St Nick’s church where our “spiritual leader” Archbishop Sotirios was presiding, did you notice which priest was missing again!!????
Where’s Fr. Ted Paraskevopoulos
been the past 2 years of services? Why is it every time the Archbishop is at a
church for Vespers all the priests get reminded by Bishop Athenagoras but Fr
Ted gets to miss it? Why is the Archbishop and his Ontario Bishop taking
attendance of their priests but only 1 priest gets a free pass? Not even Fr Peter
who has been struggling with his health gets a free pass, and he was there
tonight. Shouldn’t the good priests get a pass on having to endure another
service with our“spiritual leader” Sotirios? If a priest makes a video and
takes photos of himself and sends them to young female parishioners across
Toronto does that mean they get to miss all of the church services too? Asking for a friend who's a priest.

The post about the Mother going to the Archdiocese to show them what Fr Ted texted her daughter is true because I know the family but my question is why is this stuff getting leaked? Why isn’t this being dealt with professionally? It’s like Sotirios won’t do the responsible thing and remove him so instead they’ll leak stuff about him for what reason? Can we show some respect to the victims in our church at the hands of sexual predators like Fr Ted. And let’s not forget the king of sexual predators, the Archbishop himself! It’s as if Sotirios intentionally wants to completely destroy the church before he’s asked to retire. The church here is being held together by a thread. I don’t see how anyone finds any of this funny. I would rather have some empty churches until they can be filled with healthy priests instead of knowing there’s a priest who’s sending photos of himself and other equally inappropriate images and messages to young female parishioners across the city. ReplyDeleteTrue true. But you can’t expect a sick leader to stop sick behaviour. And if you take out all the sickness how many priests or bishops are we really left with in Canada? More importantly, how many senior ranked effective priests who can grow the church would be left? Fr Theo, and a few more who but I’m not sure who those are. If people stopped going to the Greek Orthodox churches and went to the other orthodox ones, that would speed things up on getting a new spiritual leader.

4:36 AM It’s not petty that fr ted is prohibited to go to any of the churches other than his own. It’s been going on for over 2 years. The issue isn’t that he gets a free pass but that he’s prohibited. That’s an automatic red flag.
DeleteHow can Sotirios shut the leaks down without disclosing to his priests what’s really been going on and causing a church scandal where he’s left removing fr ted as he did with fr john from All Saints when he has no priests to put there? Did Sotirios think this could go on indefinitely and no clergy or faithful would ask why hasn’t Fr Ted shown up in over two years? And why all his church programming and church social media accounts were shut down too? This was bound to happen, I’m surprised it took this long to finally start to leak. And it’s not just a couple of XXX messages, photos and videos to young women in the church. If what Ted has been doing since his Manitoba days until now happened in America, Archbishop Elpidophoros would have already defrocked him as he has with several other priests who have done less than Ted. You can’t leave dangerous predators in a church just because you don’t have priests. If Sotirios actually cared he’d go and serve as a simple priest at st Constantine and Helen until he can find a priest. But Sotirios loves chaos and controlling people like his priests so this is the perfect storm. I’d be less concerned about fr ted and more concerned about the young victims from both provinces. Fr Ted ruined his reputation all by himself, so let’s not blame that on others! That's like blaming the people that tell others, including on this blog, Sotirios is a pedo and abuser, when the person who should be blamed is Sotirios the actual pedo and abuser.
Also Fr Ted won't be able to transfer anywhere so I don't think Sotirios is worried about him leaving. His spiritual father Peter did the honourable thing a while back and spoke to America to tell them pretty much everything. I for one couldn't care less that fr Ted gets to miss all services in all other churches. I care why he hasn’t been removed from our church already!

When he can’t even shut down that he’s a pedo and abuses his priests and students. What do you want Sotirios to do about Fr Ted exactly? This was bound to happen.
His own spiritual father Peter a while back went to the Archdiocese in Canada to tell them about how Fr ted is out of control and he has tried and tried but he can’t do anything else. Priests have an obligation to tell their bishop about serious problems in the church because it’s the bishop who gives the priests the blessing to confess and counsel. For Fr Peter to do that you know it’s very serious. He did the right thing, kudos to him, that’s leadership! Unlike Sotirios who does shit.
Ruin the reputation of Fr ted? He did that all by his lonesome. Just like Sotirios and just like Bish Iakovos. All of them should be removed.

4:41 AM most priests in Canada can't leave because they don't have a Masters degree. You can’t go to the States without one. And most priests Greek aren't good enough to go to Greece. It's easy to say for the priests to walk but they have families and kids to take care of. And some clergy are waiting to see who the next Archbishop will be before they walk away from the priesthood. It's not easy to just stop being a priest because your boss is a big asshole. The only priest in a good position to leave Canada is Fr Theo because he has actual offers on the table. Fr Elias is trying to leave through his brother Fr Odi in Boston but Met Methodios is “friends” with Sotirios which is why Methodios dragged out Odi’s release for over a year. It's not easy to go to the States, you need to have strong contacts who don't really care what Sotirios has to say. And who wants to go to Greece where they're paid little by the state?
DeleteRumour has it from the Phanar that Sotirios will be asked to retire after his 50th jubilee in December 2023 (which is what Sotirios has said himself that he will go after a jubilee) but when he will submit his letter to the Synod is unclear and then an election needs to happen. I'd say he's done done within 1.5 years unless something blows up like the CRA investigation. There are people who have started pushing to have Sotirios removed so their candidates can get into “rich canada” but the Patriarch doesn't really bend to pressure, he usually digs his heals in, exhibit: Archbishop Elpidophoros who would have been removed by any other Patriarch for his repeated idiotic gaffes.
It’s the season to be jolly. …CRA just received more proof to make these idiots run with their tales between their legs. Let’s see if the sham of a board sticks around or resigns en mass?

If someone can tell me how to upload it here I will because it's so crazy. Fr Ted admits how he asked his board for an advance on his pay so he can go jet-setting to Greece with his family. Last time I checked the Church is not an ATM machine for priests or bishops. He talks about how he's offended that his board said he's the highest-paid priest, except he is! No one has a higher base pay than him in the country and he doesn't even serve a big community like St Nicks, Prophet Elias, or St Panteleimon. I've never seen a priest whine so much. The board member sent it to the Archdiocese but nothing was done, they just added to his HR file, shocking.
Oh ya!!!!! I forgot about that craziness from Fr Ted. The title makes me wonder if he was drunk or high out of his mind? That’s from a while back, someone had taped it up in the bathroom at the Archdiocese. If I was that board I was have sent a letter to Arch Sotirios to have fr ted transferred and to send a professional priest. Zero and I mean zero professionalism in the church.

ReplyDelete12:52 am— if our priest did that we’d expect his resignation or we’d resign. I can’t stand priests who think they can bully and shame their parish council into giving them more money. Like how about they try doing their jobs first instead of staying up all night writing crazy shit like “a timeline of manipulation.” The list of clergy who need to go now just continues to increase. You can find Ted at home or at jiujistu, that what he gets paid 6-figures to do all day. Sotirios has no control of the chaos in his church and I’m not even sure he cares?
